Web Marketing SEO Specialist

The SEO Specialist will have a proven track record of SEO success working with large, dynamic websites. You will demonstrate an advanced understanding of SEO tactics, the search engine industry, search engine algorithms and ranking factors, and a forward looking approach to the future of SEO and the search industry as a whole.

This candidate will support the Web Marketing Manager in the development and execution of strategic and analytical initiatives designed to improve the natural search visibility of this technology company's web sites. The SEO Specialist will develop a thorough understanding of natural search engine rankings to be able to identify opportunities for improvement of search visibility and search engine traffic growth and will communicate such opportunities. The SEO Specialist will also work under budgetary constraints to meet marketing objectives and ROI goals while assisting with the management of all web structure, metrics and programs.

The SEO Specialist will be responsible for top-to-bottom SEO including: assistance with site redesigns and site structure, page construction, content, keyword research, sitemaps, inbound link generation, ranking and referral reports, site audits and more. They will contribute SEO expertise to product plans, troubleshoot SEO problems and propose resolutions, generate and implement enhancements with a focus on “quick wins”, followed by long term strategies, and write keyword rich copy in collaboration with marketing teams.

This candidate will provide insight into web activity by identifying successes, trends, and potential problem areas, making recommendations where appropriate to improve business performance, site design and usability. They will monitor competitor sites and the general marketplace to ensure that this technology company maintains a competitive advantage in SEO. They must also stay on top of current search engine news, trends, SEO practices and emerging items of interest and share these with the rest of the team.

The SEO Specialist will report on the overall health of SEO, plus analysis of specific SEO campaigns and will be able to roll up SEO reports in a meaningful way for executive management.

Primary Accountabilities:
- Support business goals with successful search engine optimization strategies
- Develop, implement, and manage SEO campaigns for the entire product portfolio
- Execute page/site optimization, including keyword research, meta tag creation, content support and inbound and internal linking strategies.
- Perform research including site analysis, competitive/keyword research and link analysis
- Attend all web site update meetings, making appropriate recommendations to assure SEO compliance
- Validate site changes and updates each time there are SEO recommendations implemented
- Analyze web site traffic and make adjustments as needed
- Communication of SEO strategy to Web Marketing and Product teams
- Perform regular data reporting, analysis and project status
- Frequent learning and testing to ensure future SEO success
- Define and communicate best practices to help achieve optimal natural search results
- Manage budget, marketing goals and resources required for SEO
- Develop ongoing reports, which yield qualitative and quantitative trends for ongoing SEO efforts
- Collaborate with extended team to share findings that impact broader online/offline marketing strategy
- Maintain expertise on search engine news and trends

Devise and monitor key business metrics
Proven ability to build an SEO culture within the workplace

Qualifications (knowledge, skills, abilities)
- Practical experience with natural search concepts, best practices and reporting support.
- Good working knowledge of SEO tactics, search engine algorithms and ranking factors
- Knowledge of website design and development
- Problem solving skills and the ability to adapt to new technologies
- Web copywriting/copyediting skills
- Experience in the software industry preferred
- Strong analytical, problem solving and quantitative analysis skills
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and tasks simultaneously
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint)
- Excellent teamwork and passion for web marketing
- Awareness of business requirements and ability to proactively improve processes
- 3+ years of related search engine optimization experience
