OVERVIEW
The marketing communications manager provides strategic communications and brand management for Energy Upgrade California and will work on that team that transitions the brand from one that currently promotes home performance to one that engages residential and small business consumers broadly in energy concepts and stimulates their interest in demand-side energy management. Responsibilities will include developing marketing and communications materials in support of the Energy Upgrade California brand; developing processes and protocols for co-branding and brand use approval and working with stakeholders to support the Energy Upgrade California statewide marketing, education and outreach effort.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide marketing strategy and management for Energy Upgrade California marketing focused on residential and small business consumers
Serve as a central point of contact for contractors, local governments, and other partners regarding program marketing needs
Develop strategies and methods to engage residential and small business consumers, increase customer participation in energy programs, and encourage repeat participation
Identify opportunities to facilitate customer engagement and participation
Oversee development, tracking, and approval of marketing materials. Ensure marketing communications align with Energy Upgrade California brand standards and style
Work with website manager to ensure web and interactive content is accurate and timely..
Oversee coordination of residential events and outreach activities to ensure efficient use of resources and leverage opportunities to reach consumer audiences.
Maintain ongoing communication with marketing contacts at energy agencies, utilities, and local governments
Manage competitive solicitation process to hire public relations and marketing firms to develop marketing materials for Energy Upgrade California
Pursue collaborative marketing and outreach opportunities with organizations that can support Energy Upgrade California
This position supervises contractors, and will need to hire and direct their work on aggressive timelines effectively and efficiently.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing or related field.
5 years of experience managing multiple communications projects simultaneously
Demonstrated marketing communications management experience
Demonstrated experience managing individual project budgets, designing marketing plans, and utilizing market research to target specific customer groups.
Experience organizing and clearly presenting information to the public.
Demonstrated experience managing individual project budgets requiring internal approvals and processes for competitive procurements, designing marketing plans, utilizing market research to target specific customer groups, and producing high quality, effective marketing campaigns
Proven ability to manage contractors and cross-functional teams
Knowledge of energy efficiency and renewable energy issues in California, particularly from a residential perspective, is preferred.
