Web Developer/Programmer

Vitamin T Client in Williamsburg, VA is currently looking to hire a full-time Web Developer/Programmer (.net experience is a huge plus!) and YOU could be just the type of person they're looking for! This person will develop custom modules and database-driven Web interfaces and maintain, optimize, troubleshoot, and implement education-related elements for History.org and iCitizenForum.com. The focus of work is on overall user experience and new technologies and you would work closely with an established Internet team of Director, Operations Manager, Editor, Senior Web Designer/Developer and Web Designer/Developer and with specialists from other divisions and departments.

Work to be performed:
1. Position reports to the Director of Internet and supports the client's web presence
2. Develop, maintain, optimize, troubleshoot, and implement features and database-driven interfaces from conception to completion
3. Work with design team to translate design comps into custom modules and themes and HTML/XHTML pages
4. Utilize Drupal, WordPress, Sitecore and similar applications to design, build, and maintain blogging sites
5. Research new technologies and incorporate industry-standard functionality and mobile design in Web features
6. Utilize HTML, CSS, XML, AJAX, .NET, JavaScript, ColdFusion, PHP, and MySQL in projects
7. Test for cross-browser and cross-platform issues and identify site deficiencies and implement effective solutions
8. Demonstrate advanced skills using both Mac- and PC-based platforms.

Qualifications:
Development portfolio is required; User-centered development and design focus; Significant knowledge of hand-coded HTML, .NET, CSS, Javascript, PHP, and MySQL; Experience using ColdFusion, XML, AJAX; Significant experience with WordPress or Drupal; Experience with Sitecore; Demonstrated execution of database and Web development; Experience with cross-browser and cross-platform issues; Experience with optimizing websites for mobile delivery systems; Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects and timelines efficiently.

Preferred Qualifications:
Three or more years successful experience of website development; Two or more years of successful database application development and administration; Advanced experience with Drupal a plus; Experience with Sitecore a plus; Experience with Version Control Systems; Experience with iOS/Android app development; Experience with Learning Management Systems; Graphic design skills; Experience working on a Mac platform; Visual design experience in Photoshop, Illustrator and Dreamweaver a plus.
