IDEAL PERSONALITY: Should be very easygoing, congenial and have a good sense of humor. They should be detail-oriented, organized and be able to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced corporate environment. We are a conservative publishing company, not an ad agency, but we expect quality work to be turned around very quickly and accurately.

Must be skilled in both print and web design.
WEB Requirements
- Proficient in both HTML coding and basic Javascript and JQuery knowledge. The ability to hand-code without the assistance of WYSIWYG would be a huge plus. Responsibilities would include serving as a back-up to our primary web designer, assisting in the creation of web banners, emails, landing pages and interstitials on the web.

PRINT Requirements
-Some publication design experience and have a little bit of editorial savvy. i.e. able to read an article and have a good understanding of the main theme of the story to conceptualize a visual theme including charts, tables and art, and be able to find appropriate photographs or illustrations to help tell the story.
-Any experience in designing newspaper or magazine ads would also be especially helpful.
-Thorough understanding of CMYK and spot color printing processes is expected.
-Experience in designing book covers, logo design, and corporate branding would also be a positive.
-Software skills MUST include Creative Suite (Photoshop, In Design, Illustrator familiarity should be at a mastery level of a regular user with a very high level of expertise).
-MS Office suite familiarity is also expected: MSWord, MSExcel, PowerPoint and Outlook familiarity is required, mastery in any of these is a big plus.)

Because we wear a lot of hats and tend to overlap responsibilities, other strong pluses would include any of the following skills: illustration, photography, proofreading, MS Excel proficiency, image color correction, image retouching/manipulation, headline/caption writing experience, photo editing (assigning photographers, finding stock photos, etc.), familiarity with retail print shop terminology/functionality, and familiarity with prepress print production processes.
