Vitamin T is looking for a Web Designer/Developer to fill a permanent need at one of our clients. This will be contract-to-hire and only local candidates will be considered.

Works to enhance site functionality, navigation, and user interfaces, as well as to perform tasks related to the day-to-day operation of the various sites, performing routine site updates as well as assisting in the development and launch of digital projects.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, education, experience, and/or ability required.

Background: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, interactive/graphic design, communications or related field; plus 5 or more years applicable experience in-house or within a design firm.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have working knowledge of web design tools, hand-coding, multimedia/web design, CSS, HTML/XHTML, PHP, JavaScript, Exact Target/Salesforce’s proprietary AMPscript and website integration with Salesforce Marketing Cloud DB and DBEs, and other relevant coding languages, as well as some familiarity with ASPX code; proficient with Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat, Photoshop, After Effects, video editing software, Internet browsers (IE, Firefox, Safari, Chrome), operating systems (current versions of Windows and Mac OS X). Ability to implement work across all browsers (current versions of IE, Firefox, Chrome, Safari, and iOS/mobile browsers) & operating systems (current versions of Windows and Mac OS X) Working knowledge of web standards and usability best-practices, MS Office Suite.

Other: Must be able to travel by air for overnight and multi-day stays away from home up to 14 days per year.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Generates and executes website navigation and user interface design.
Institutes technical transitions between development, testing, and production phases.
Collaborates with the Webmaster and Web Production Artist in daily maintenance of all commercial and wholesale sites.
Recommends and implements interactive features to existing sites, tools, and services.
Troubleshoots and debugs problems, errors, software code, and conditions related to applications and interfaces.
Coordinates with in-house IT and out-of-house programmers with back-end site development.
Converts design into standards-compliant code, applets, or interfaces, as appropriate.
Develops and maintains awareness of industry technical developments and competitors’ products.
Researches, tests, builds, and leads in the integration of new products per project production specs and requirements.
Designs, programs, and develops marketing elements for web, email marketing and social platforms.
Designs and annotates web Ecommerce UI comps and wireframes for hand-off to programmers to develop on Ruby on Rails with Spree.
Establishes and enforces processes to ensure consistent, well-managed and well-integrated sites/projects.
Archives and orders files and project assets, as instructed.
Follows, maintains and enhances the brand style guide.
Develops site concept, interface design, and architecture of the website, working with members of the Creative Team.
Participates with Creative Team in the review of production schedules, assignments of projects in daily meetings and other Marketing Department or Corporate meetings, as directed.
Provides timeline estimates and schedules for web development and project-related tasks.
Provides status reports on development activities and project milestones.
Represents our client to public and employees in a positive and professional manner.
Ensures employees’ compliance with established security and safety procedures and company policies and practices.
Provides example of consistency and dependability in execution of duties and responsibilities.
