Our client, a university in Boston, is looking to bring on a junior - midlevel web designer! This role sits onsite in Boston and is temp to perm.

The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of interaction design and have an online portfolio that tells a story.

Full description:
The Graphic Designer in this position participates in the planning, design, development and production of a variety of creative projects including, but not limited to, print collateral, web site development, interactive and rich media. The designer will work in a small creative team that serves both Undergraduate and Graduate Enrollment Marketing & Communications Departments.

The Graphic Designer is responsible for translating strategic marketing goals into end-products that visually align with the Northeastern University value proposition, brand guidelines and best practices for achieving results. The Graphic Designer will collaborate with subject matter experts and consult messaging guides to transfer objectives for an initiative into clear, actionable, concise design work for various personae and in multiple design channels.

Must Haves:
- One to two years experience in both print and web/interactive design experience (corporate or agency), including video editing and preparation for web/interactive platforms.
- Solid command of, and ability to integrate, a broad set of marketing disciplines including but not limited to: brand, print, and digital interactive including web.
- Employs solid knowledge of graphic design, user interface design, usability methodology, information architecture, industry standards and trends, platform and browser capabilities and web constraints to create consistent, accessible, intuitive interactive web-based tools that enhance the user’s experience and promote learning.
- Advanced knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop) and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Powerpoint, Word, and Excel). Familiarity with HTML and Wordpress desirable.
- Strong knowledge in pre-press, printing, and Web standards.
- Proficiency with IT platforms including Macintosh, Microsoft Windows and leading Web browsers.


Percent of Time

•Brainstorm and develop visual storyboards to drive the development of a design project.
•Understand and apply University brand standards across a variety of media and applications.
•Design and produce visual communications in various media while meeting business objectives, technical and budget specifications.
•Responsible for design, layout, and produce promotional materials including brochures, web content, advertising (print and online), HTML emails, college fair displays, and signage.
•Determine proportion, arrangement and flow of textual, illustrative and other content, arranging layout based upon knowledge of design, layout and typographic communication concepts.
•Create rich media content to support various projects.
•Prepare photography and video for interactive applications; photography and/or video editing skills a plus.
