Key skills and competencies:
• Fluency in Javascript/JQuery, CSS, HTML5
• High comfort level with XML/XSLT and PHP development
• Remain current on web technologies and methodologies

Role and responsibilities include:
• Lead developer on all scripting and coding for presentation and behavior on public web
properties managed by the Marketing and Communications office
• Convert wireframes and visual designs to clickable prototypes and finished products that are
cross-browser compatible and device-responsive
• Collaborate on solving complex layout and design challenges
• Solve UI and UX issues during design and development phases of projects
• Configure Cascade Server CMS templates, formats (XSLT and Velocity), site containers, data
definitions, content types and output
• Create clickable prototype development for new projects, including microsites and upcoming
site-wide refresh
• Manage web server redirects
• Provide support to clients and CMS users who encounter issues either on the public web site or
in the CMS, in the form of training or direct content management as the need arises
• Fix broken links and pages reported by visitors or third party tools
• Collaborate with the Director of Interactive media on content management strategy, including
data definition design and content management workflow
• Create ways to display data, while allowing for that data to be easily managed by content
owners (e.g. catalogue, news, on-the-road, NTS courses, events)
• Work with third-party web governance tools to monitor and rectify accessibility and quality
assurance issues with the public web site
• Utilize Cascade Server, PrinceXML, and web services scripting to manage the College’s online
course catalogue and news archives as well as create an annual press-ready course catalogue

• Web server document root maintenance and cleanup
• Improve and manage interactive features, such as forms and site search
• Update front-end technologies as the web evolves
