Web Designer

We are looking for a Web Designer who is passionate about customer-focused design, interaction design, and turning business requirements into sleek solutions. In this role, you’ll work closely with an interdisciplinary team of designers, developers, copywriters and marketing professionals as well as outside vendors to define the user experience for corporate and consumer facing web and multi-media initiatives.
This is not a Web Development position. The Web Designer must be - first and foremost - a Designer.

Responsibilities:
Collaborate with team members to create a clear and concise Site Map for each web initiative.
Clearly define the User and Product Goals for each web initiative with the team.
Make User Experience and Technical Recommendations.
Assist in developing Wireframes based on Site Map and approved Requirements Documents.
Responsible for designing innovative, on-trend, on-target, and brand-building Websites.
Create Prototypes as needed and prepares all assets for the front-end development team.
Works closely with the front-end developers to maintain the visual integrity and usability of the site while integrating with the back-end functionality and implementing preferred development methods.


Qualifications:
Degree in Interactive Design or related visual field.
5+ years experience in Web Design and UX .
Strong portfolio demonstrating DESIGN, UX and BRAND CONSISTENCY. (at least 2 live sites)
Basic knowledge of programming languages such as HTML, CSS, Java Script and JQuery to effectively execute prototypes and to work seamlessly with the front-end developers.
ADVANCED knowledge of all Adobe CS applications.
Have an understanding of business analysis processes and how they relate to UX/UI and have the ability to translate business and technical requirements into UX magic.
Experience building detailed/annotated Wireframes.
Experience translating Brand Standards when creating new experiences as well as when updating existing ones.
Must be comfortable working in a Mac and PC environment but must be able to design in a Mac environment.


Must have strong work practices, design discipline and a proven record of delivering innovative solutions on time for demanding and complex user experience challenges.
Highly detail-oriented with a passion for pixel perfection, self-motivated and obsessively organized.
Must be able to work in a team environment that is fast-paced with multiple projects and must be able to graciously accept critical feedback.
Must have a passion for researching and implementing new trends, new technologies - - the go-to person for what’s happening in the world of Web Design and UX.
Experience in Mobile Design is a plus.
Strong verbal and written communication and negotiation skills.
Ability to accurately scope projects.
Study and resolving software usability issues.
Plus:

Experience working with National Brands is a plus.
Retail design experience is a plus.
E-commerce or transaction based site or application design experience is a plus.
Interest or experience in designing for Social Media is a plus.
Experience in Web Application design is a plus.
