Title of Position: Web Database Developer
Reports to: Director of Creative Services

TIME (%) AND PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
50% Web Site Backend Development
• Gather and document technical requirements for functional aspects of web site development projects.
• Work with organizational stakeholders and web team members to proactively recommend and implement
technical solutions and best practices that meet specific business needs and requirements.
• Develop, integrate, troubleshoot and maintain current and new database functionality on family of web
sites to facilitate e-commerce, online fundraising, online advertising, data reporting and charting.
• Collaborate with IT Web Engineers to coordinate server requirements, setup, and ongoing maintenance.
35% CMS Administration
• Setup and maintenance of CMS (WordPress, DNN Evoke, Umbraco) including installation, configuration,
optimization and troubleshooting.
• Plug-in selection, installation, setup and updating.
• CMS database integration and administration.
15% Project Documentation
• Documentation of system setup, configuration, operation, usage and maintenance.
• Comprehensive code documentation and organization.
Education:
• Four-year degree in computer sciences or related field

Skills/Experience:
• Minimum 5 years experience as a web and database developer.
• Strong knowledge of current web development technologies, particularly LAMP
(Linux/Apache/MySQL/PHP) architecture, HTML5, CSS3jQuery, Javascript, and WordPress.
• Strong knowledge of relational databases including FileMaker Pro required.
• Prefer candidate to also have basic understanding of SQL Server and ASP.NET.
• Proven experience implementing CMS-based web sites including e-commerce, data reporting, and highly
interactive functionality.
• Complete understanding of all phases of Web development process including site setup, development,
source control management, database integration, maintenance, and functional testing.
• Knowledge of web development best practices; awareness of latest technologies for design and delivery
of successful web sites for both desktop and mobile users. Experience in mobile application
development, APIs and web services.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to form effective partnerships with stakeholders,
and a talent for negotiation and effective issue resolution.
• Self-starter with strong problem-solving skills, exceptional attention to detail, and ability to execute amid
ambiguity with limited direction.
