Vitamin T has an exciting opportunity for a Web Content Strategist in Houston, TX!

Candidate must be local to the Houston, TX area to be considered for this role.

SUMMARY 

Responsible for leading content development for the Employee Service Center and other company printed and web channels as determined by nature of content. Responsibilities range from concept through production and delivery, assessing content opportunities and recommending content strategies that meet client goals, deliver excellent user experience and adhere to web content governance policies. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 

Under limited supervision and much decision-making: 

Provides content strategy leadership on projects from initial concepts to wireframes, briefs, content decks, editorial calendars, style guides, and ongoing content curation. 
Researches and understands content contributors’ offerings and objectives. 
Communicates clearly with project teams on project objectives and deliverables. 
Collaborates with internal teams to define and develop content vision and strategy. 
Conducts content usability studies, analyzes content opportunities and recommends strategies, interactions or approaches. 
Provides level-of-effort and time estimates for project deliverables to assist project teams. 
Coordinates projects requiring the creation of information architecture deliverables. 
Oversees multiple projects and ensure content tasks are completed in a timely manner. 
Leads and/or assists in presentations to COE’s and Business Units to create buy-in for recommended strategies and solutions. 
Works closely with company legal counsel to create and maintain highly restricted content including, but not limited to, both general and client-specific Employment Agreements. 
Conducts web analytics, evaluates and recommends enhancements and helps to resolve issues. 
Works with designers in the creation of visual deliverable and reviews creative with an eye toward content strategy and communication. 
Creates and updates complex online forms using JavaScript coding. 
Develops and maintains coding scripts for use by field services personnel in the creation of printed pre-pop employee orientation booklets specific to all States and clients. Manages relationship and processes with Document Production Center and client Orientation Teams, ensuring the correct printing of pre-pop booklets. 
Administers company Client Folders utilized by sales and services organizations where all client-specific documents and contracts are maintained. 
Assists in the training, development and promotion of Web Content Governance processes.

Assists in the accomplishment of Company goals. 
Helps other employees to accomplish Company goals. 
Performs other duties as may be assigned by department supervisor. 
Participates in the Disaster Recovery plan as required. 

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS 

Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent work experience) in web design, computer technology, journalism or a related field is required. 
Five to seven years of experience managing web content projects using a Content Management System (CMS) and applying web content governance strategies is required. Five years of experience writing, editing and managing web content is required. 

LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS 

No licenses or certifications are required. Enterprise Content Management (ECM) Certification is preferred. 

KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS 

Aptitude for visual and interactive thinking desired. 
Demonstrated knowledge and experience with use of CMS, HTML, CSS, Adobe Professional, Photoshop, JavaScript, PDF-Mergician and MS Office. 
Aptitude for researching and understanding technical subject matters and ability to quickly grasp core ideas of varied and complex topics required. 
Strong problem solving skills. 
Ability to develop a strategy for content that translates client offerings or objectives into compelling content experiences for users. 
Ability to handle competing and/or tight deadlines, great organizational skills and attention to detail required. 
Excellent communications skills (both written and verbal) are required with the ability to establish working relationships and interact effectively with a wide range of people. 
Demonstrated expertise in content writing and strong editing and proofreading skills. 
Strong project management skills with an ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects. 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS 

Performs light work; exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
