Internal online support:

Work with state companies and functional areas to update relevant internal web sites and social media sites. At times, may be asked to shoot and edit video content for use on American Water’s web site, intranet and blogs.
Will also assist provide creative design and layout for various internal and external email, newsletters and announcements. The above tasks require developing and maintaining relationships with regional and corporate business center personnel to proactively research topics and gather content.. May require coordinating responses with department managers/directors.
Internet Support: Develops and maintains content for all pages of American Water's website. Requires coordination with business units and other members of the communications team to ensure all information is current and relevant to external audiences. Content updates include but are not limited to writing, editing or adding copy and photos, posting press releases, presentations, video, case studies, etc.
Acts as liaison with regional team members to ensure all internet processes and procedures are followed as well as ensures consistency across all state subsidiary web pages.
Will assess content needs, create mockups and design departmental and externally-focused websites, microsites and various elements for American Water’s existing web properties which include presence on social media sites.
Also includes support for regional teams in crisis situations. This includes the posting of time sensitive material required by PUC's and other governing bodies. Examples of this information includes boil water advisories, rate/tariff information, etc. May include overnight and weekend support.
On a daily basis check and actively manage department mailboxes, aw.news, aw.tapus and the online marketing mailbox, and provide professional, immediate responses to inquiries. May require coordinating responses with department managers/directors.
Works with Webmaster and web vendor on issues and necessary changes to both internet and intranet. Researches web industry and utility industry web trends and considers options for both tools. Proposes options to department leads.
