Web Content Specialist

Vitamin T has an exciting opportunity for a Web Content Specialist in Houston, TX. 

Only local candidates in the Houston, TX area will be considered. 

Candidates must be fully authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship in order to be considered for this role.


Responsible for the review, approval and quality assurance testing of both client and internal facing web content assets managed within the Content Management System (CMS) and delivered on the Employee Service Center (ESC), and other company's printed and web channels as determined by nature of content. In addition, this position supports the company's compliance with Federal, State and local laws as well as ensuring adherence to web content governance policies. 


Under limited supervision and much decision-making: 

Performs all functions of Gatekeeper role within Web Content Governance CMS Workflow for content assets. Conducts review, approval/rejection and quality assurance testing of all content assets created by content contributors across the company, ensuring adherence to web content governance policies, compliance with applicable laws/regulations, approvals by Company legal counsel and/or marketing branding, appropriate CMS/site taxonomy and correct security access rights. 
Manages web content lifecycle process across multiple channels via administration of CMS. 
Oversees and supports multiple content projects ensuring content tasks are completed in a timely manner and facilitates multiple requests concurrently collaborating with content contributors/ approvers and project teams. 
Provides timely delivery of content changes in accordance with defined release schedules. 
Communicates clearly with project teams on project objectives and deliverable. 
Mentors and manages the creation of content assets by content contributors across the company. 
Creates and develops content assets as needed to assist with content projects. 
Reviews and manages content deliverable across multiple projects. 
Assists in the management of client expectations throughout project life cycle to ensure consistency and quality in deliverable. 
Assists COE’s, Business Units and Product Innovation team in identifying areas of improvement and efficiency opportunities within content assets, ESC and other content delivery channels.

Assists in the accomplishment of Company goals. 
Helps other employees to accomplish Company goals. 
Performs other duties as may be assigned by department supervisor. 
Participates in the Disaster Recovery plan as required. 

Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent work experience) in web design, computer technology, journalism or a related field is required. 
Three to five years of experience managing web content using a Content Management System (CMS) and applying web content governance strategies are required. Three years of experience writing, editing and managing web content is required 


No licenses or certifications are required. Enterprise Content Management (ECM) Certification is preferred. 


Aptitude for visual and interactive thinking desired. 
Demonstrated knowledge and experience with use of content management systems (CMS), HTML, CSS, Adobe Professional and MS Office. 
Ability to handle competing and/or tight deadlines, great organizational skills and attention to detail required. 
Excellent communications skills (both written and verbal) are required with the ability to establish working relationships and interact effectively with a wide range of people. 
Proficient in Microsoft software applications. 
Demonstrated experience in content writing and strong editing and proofreading skills. 
Strong project management skills with the ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects.
