Web Content Producer - Travel Channel

Come and work for a leading Non-Profit in downtown DC! Immediate year long contract for a seasoned Web Content Producer to work on-site.

Candidate will lead the decisions of timely, compelling news, information, and lifestyle content for client's digital properties, with an eye towards driving traffic and engagement. Responsible for short, medium, and long-range planning and web production for the new Travel Experience. Also responsible for writing and/or editing online content and other display copy as well as some article content.

Responsibilities:
• Ability and comfort working in a content management system building pages
• Conceptualizes web content on a regular basis.
• In a matrix role, creates and nurtures strong working relationships with other departments — especially but not exclusively Publications, Broadcast, Brand, Education and Outreach, Advocacy, and specific content experts throughout the Association.
• Top-edits, rewrites, and creates headlines, captions and other display copy as well as occasionally writing and editing articles; ensures that all channel “housekeeping” (web production, links, most popular, etc) are maintained.
• Keeps intimately familiar with content and issues in each assigned channel, maintaining regular and close contact with experts, contributors, and client staff to develop content ideas.
• Ability and comfort working with an integrated workflow management tool.

Requirements
• Bachelors Degree in communications (or equivalent)
• 10+ years professional experience (or equivalent)
• 5+ years experience with content management systems
• Deep understanding of online communications – ideally in the area of travel
• Ability to work in an integrated workflow tool
