Web Content Manager (Intermediate)

WEB CONTENT MANAGER - HERNDON, VA

Ability to juggle continuous influx of requests. Ability to estimate and meet deadlines. Ability to accommodate last-minute changes in plan. Ability to self-prioritize based on business needs. Detail oriented. Tasks tbe assigned: Daily campaign-related promand page publishing tasks in all websites and OLS. Work with sr. content manager to create & maintain prompublishing calendar across all sites. Monitor all sites for needed updates to links and promplacements to maintain freshness and accuracy. Seasonal updates to scope & sequence pages, course description pages, downloadable information pages. Monitor 3x-weekly news clips list, identify and publish clips and releases worth adding to Press areas on all sites. Work with sr. content manager to add and maintain GA link-level tracking as requested. Work with sr. content manager and copywriters to share publishing tasks for larger projects as needed (enrollment open/close, content scrub, etc.) Work with sr. content manager to identify and implement improvements on all sites to increase usability and conversion - Work with sr. content manager on planning and execution of publishing as part of larger projects (migration to Drupal, addition of new features, etc.) Additional publishing tasks as required

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS :
• Bachelor’s degree AND
• Two (2) years' experience with website promotion creation/placement/management AND
• One (1) year of experience using a Content Management System (CMS), particularly Drupal OR
• Equivalent combination of education and experience

Certificates and Licenses: None required.

OTHER REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES :
• Ability to read/interpret/write/revise Hyper Text Markup Language (HTML) code; knowledge of HTML5 and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS)
• Copywriting/editing experience with ability to proofread for accuracy in spelling, grammar and format
• Knowledge of Drupal 6/7, including creation of views, revision of GUI, configuration of modules, and administrative functions
• Strong understanding of web and visual design, with ability to create and modify graphic images using Photoshop/InDesign
• Familiarity with Search Engine Optimization (SEO) concepts and practice
• Understanding of user experience and usability considerations
• Deep understanding of various cross-browser compatibility issues
• Generally strong facility with local and web-based software applications
• Professional interpersonal skills; able to interact with department stakeholders as appropriate under an internal service/client relationship
• Good judgment, with the ability to identify when collaboration, buy-in and/or sign-off by other team members or stakeholders is needed
• Ability to set priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and organization skills • Ability to pass required background check
