Web Content Manager

Position Description

Our leading Fortune 500 client is looking for a Web Content builder to collaborate with Site Managers and other Builders to create and edit content for various web sites. Working knowledge of web site development is essential. The contractor must be able to effectively receive, translate and deliver web content from verbal and/or written requirements. The contractor must be able to communicate effectively between Site Managers and other Builders. Attention to detail, written and oral communication as well as time management skills are critical to this role.


  • Experience utilizing a Web Content Management system. Tridion/Documentum experience a plus.

  • Basic 508 Compliance/ADA and HTML knowledge/experience.

  • Provides content management and daily maintenance of web sites.

  • Is well versed in the disciplines of Search Engine Optimization, Information Architecture and general Web Usability Requirements and can effectively balance the various disciplines to ensure the end customer are able to find, utilize and gain value from on page content.

  • Ensures compliance with brand guidelines on the website and assists in the deployment and upkeep of content.

  • Responsible for maintaining creative standards through efficient and effective work and careful quality control.

  • Collaborates with team members on cross-functional initiatives to ensure the integration of creative and technical elements into a final content presentation.

  • Troubleshoots and fixes bugs related to content and system integration issues. Provides guidance, as needed, to other functional resources related to troubleshooting system integration issues

  • Working knowledge of enterprise level publishing environment (control, review, production)

  • Excellent attention to detail, written and verbal communication skills and time management skills.

  • Ability to follow pre-established business processes and procedures.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Requirements

  • Typically 2 or more years or related working experience in an Internet production environment.

  • Experience working on an enterprise eCommerce system highly valued.
    Experience with a content management or web publishing system required.

  • Proven knowledge of software programs on PC windows computing platform such as HomeSite, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Image Ready, Macromedia Flash, Adobe Illustrator, Macromedia Dreamweaver, MS Project, Visio.

  • Skills

  • Ability to understand business requirements in regards to Internet and content management.

  • Microsoft office programs.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Ability to prioritize and schedule production requests. Creative problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to analyze and resolve publishing/production issues.

  • Ability to develop and communicate publishing options and alternatives with content writers/producers.

  • Experience with content audits, content matrices.

  • Availability to work on release nights.
