Web Content Editor (part time)

The Web Content Editor at a large professional services company plans, organizes, edits, and structures marketing content for the company internet and intranet web sites. This Corporate Communications position works closely with both the Corporate Communications department’s team as well as the IT department’s Web Designer, and is involved in the content related tasks of web development projects.

This is a part time (long term) freelance position in San Francisco.

Primary objectives are:
Manage, update, and maintain internet websites using a CMS
Perform project tasks such as content gathering, formatting, testing and compliance management.
Work with a variety of different people involved in the internet and intranet website creation process including web developers and designers, technical teams / IT, site owners, creative services, marketing, legal and compliance teams
Ensure that site content is user-focused and consistent in style, format, and quality
Implement new content initiatives and participate in site redesigns
Research, suggest, implement, test, and support innovative web solutions and serve as a resource to group communications content editors on new web editing features, best practices, and emerging trends
Manage multiple website content projects, both large and small
Hand code web pages when necessary using HTML

The skills, experience, and knowledge required to be considered for this position include:
2+ years of experience in content management related to web publishing
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Computer Science, Information Design, Business, or related field
Mastery of the English language (grammar, usage, and spelling)
Excellent PC/computer skills
Working knowledge of HTML, Dreamweaver, Flash and other website creation software
Demonstrated knowledge of web content management tools
Good understanding of the publications process and knowledge of the basic principles of typography and design for the web
Knowledge of basic principles of usability and functionality for various types of online publications
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet communicated deadlines
Preferred candidate will have a business-to-business web marketing background
