Web Content Editor (Testing & Optimization)

Our client, a world leader in 3D design, engineering and entertainment software, is looking for a Web Content Editor to create, edit and manage content for web optimization initiatives.

As part of the Web Testing & Optimization Team, the Web Editor will work on diverse projects and deliver compelling content that optimizes customer and prospect engagement leading to significant, measurable impact on business goals. Responsibilities include writing and editing original content as well as researching, identifying and refining existing content for use in optimization testing initiatives.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
• Research, identify and collect content for use in optimization tests; Engage cross-functional teams and business units to locate and procure valuable, relevant content for use in testing initiatives.
• Edit existing content and write new content in support of optimization strategy and initiatives.
• Apply proper voice and tone to content to improve its effectiveness; experiment with variations in style and tone in support of optimization experimentation.
• Quickly comprehend and internalize the features and benefits of a broad set of complex, powerful software and service solutions across all supported industries.
• Work closely with web user experience (UX) experts to align content requirements with interactive design.
• Understand and apply web writing and SEO best practices, as appropriate, in the development of content.
• Develop “customer-in” use cases (user personas) to help identify content requirements to better meet customer and prospect needs.
• Build and maintain effective working relationships with web marketing managers, marketing team, and various business partners to ensure a strong pipeline for content resources and approvals.
• Participate in internal optimization team meetings; contribute editorial expertise and points-of-view in developing optimizations programs and strategies.

• 4-year college degree, preferably in English, communications, journalism, or a related area.
• 5+ years professional experience in web editing and/or writing. Demonstrated proficiency in writing and editing high-quality content specifically for web.
• Ability to prioritize work and manage projects on schedule.
• Must be able to provide writing or editing samples.
• Must be able to demonstrate copyediting expertise.

Desired Knowledge/Skills
• Strong understanding of the intersection/relationship of web information architecture (IA) and interactive design with content strategy and creation
• Familiarity with web publishing tools, including content management systems, and basic understanding of web and web page structure.
• Experience working in a matrixed corporate environment and ability to influence others in support of initiatives across the organization
• Working understanding of SEO (search engine optimization) and the content tactics needed in support of SEO.
• Experience and demonstrated understanding of testing and optimization a plus!!

• This is a 6 month, W-2 contract position located in San Francisco, CA
