Web Content Editor

We are seeking a detail-oriented web content editor and project manager to work on the portal to the corporate intranet viewed by 120,000 full time employees, contractors and vendors. This role includes responsibility for the following content programs:

1) Executive Events
2) Sites & Tasks
3) Select home page content programs.

In addition, this role will provide team backup.

As Project Manager, the ideal candidate may plan and coordinate all aspects of the production of our executive events sites. This includes coordination with Communications Managers across the company to plan for the details and promotion of the event, coordinating all publishing aspects of content to support the event, partnering with the Production team for high quality execution of all aspects, and driving our involvement in the triage process during the live webcast.

The resource will also drive the program to ensure high quality intranet directory content, including providing direction to vendor subject analysts, editing and vetting content reviews, and programming content for content promotions.

Additionally, they will drive several key home page editorial content programs, ensuring quality, relevance, accuracy and consistency of voice. Partner with the production team for high quality execution of these content programs. On a monthly basis, monitor metrics for these programs and provide suggestions to Managing Editor for improvements and changes. Specific programs as follows:

• Promotion/Events Calendar Submission (DAILY): Review recommendations made by Promo Editor about which stakeholder submissions should be included in promo and Events Calendar line up. Evaluate recommendations based on metrics and relevance to the audience.
• What’s Happening Promotions (DAILY): Review promo copy and images prior to draft being sent to stakeholders, approving or making edits as needed.
• (MONTHLY): Review batch of submissions and select which ones will appear on the homepage. Evaluate based on photo quality, composition, and metrics. Avoid images considered offensive, inappropriate or counter to editorial guidelines.
• Promo Sign-off (DAILY): Review final draft/mockup of next day’s
promos. Do a final QA before the content is posted.
• Review (DAILY): Do a final review of daily feature story program, ensuring the article is error-free, understandable and the images are compelling. Assign a category to the story.

• Word of the Week Programming (MONTHLY): Manage Word of the Week content program, sourcing new words and definitions to highlight. Provide batch of words to content manager for publication.

In addition: Provide overall team support, including providing backup for FTE team member vacations. As time permits, provide assistance with other content programs as needed to support the goals and objectives. Examples of those programs may include working with stakeholders to aggregate and produce new content pages, participating in business validation for technical projects, and monitoring social engagement and reporting volumes, trends, and overall tone.

• Team Backup or other projects – 10%

Skills & experience required:
• 8 plus years of experience in a related profession is required
• Web content management, demonstrated Project Management experience
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
• Strong collaboration skills and the ability to communicate well with various roles and levels across the company
• Knowledge of SharePoint, Excel, Word, Windows Media Player
• Past experience working with video on the web desired
• Experience with using and analyzing web metrics required; experience with Webtrends a plus
• Bachelor's degree in Communications, English Literature, Journalism or related field is preferred.
