Position Title: Web Content / Social Media and Manager
Reports To: Director of Public Relations and Social Media


This position is two-pronged. The primary responsibility involves proactive strategic management to keep worldwide web experience fresh, relevant, increasingly effective and operating smoothly. This will include maintaining, refreshing and adding content for company web sites, reviewing and reporting analytics, and managing any external resources involved in maintaining/upgrading the sites. The position requires measurable contributions to increasing the performance of the web sites and meeting each site’s objective which may include: reduce customer service phone calls/consumer returns, e-commerce for replacement parts on-line, launch new products, increase brand awareness and positioning. This position requires off hours monitoring and troubleshooting potential web site problems.

Secondarily this position will execute our social media strategy across multiple online platforms, targeting multiple audiences. The Manager will serve as an online community ambassador for the company and related Brands, empowered to create active communities using on-brand strategies. This position will be responsible to connect the social media tactics to marketing and sales objectives and provide measurable results. This position requires off hours monitoring and response for all social media channels.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Plan and implement web content refresh on an ongoing basis.
• Coordinate with others in the Marketing department to support product launches, TV advertising, key selling periods and major retail initiatives.
• Produce monthly report on web site performance and recommend changes/improvements based on the analysis.
• Supervise the development of creative, images, copy and other pertinent information to continually update and refresh web sites.
• Populate and monitor e-commerce platform.
• Manage and implement localizations for international markets.
• Monitor and assist with hosted CRM solution.
• Daily web updates as necessary.
• Recommend, implement and monitor on-line advertising, viral and web marketing campaigns.
• Manage outside web site resource resources.
• Maintain and update the news portions of multiple brand web sites
• Plan and execute social media initiatives and on-going community management
• Develop and update social media content calendar
• Be on the front lines of monitoring company and related brand and products
• Collect and track sentiment across audiences
• Track and analyze performance of campaigns and social media activities
• Produce quarterly report on qualitative and quantitative metrics
• Post content on sites like Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, NING communities, Instagram and other social media sites and interact with community members
• Participate in conversations within brand communities as well as external sites; answer questions and provide customer service as appropriate
• Assist in developing and delivering content for internal training and communication
• Maintain directory of all official accounts and site owners to ensure strategic initiatives are being carried out across all platforms
• Keep up on emerging social media tips, tricks, sites, case studies, and happenings.

• Bachelor's or Associate's degree in marketing, communications, or technology required
• Three to five years related experience in consumer products – sporting goods or toy experience a plus.
• Functional knowledge of HTML and CSS.
• Experience working with cloud hosting, CMS, CRM and CDN systems
• Fully proficient in latest versions of WordPress
• Some e-commerce experience a plus.
• Demonstrated dedication to social media activities including blogging, the use of Facebook, YouTube, Twitter and emerging social media platforms
• Strong experience in creative development, sourcing and managing content development
• Strong understanding of social media universe including Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Instagram, YouTube, NING, StumbleUpon, Delicious, Digg, Reddit, Flickr, forums, Wikis, blogs, digital applications, etc.
• Ability to write and ask questions in a conversational, on-brand style which may require multiple efforts with a different sense of tone and voice. Ability to identify threats and opportunities in user generated content, with ability to use discretion in responding to that content
• Competency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Excellent project management and budget management skills required
• Great communication skills
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work within a fast-paced, multifunctional environment
• Must be self-motivated with outstanding organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Ability to work well with cross-functional teams
• Good cultural fit is extremely important
