WEB DATA ANALYST

As an integral member of the Digital Commerce team, the successful candidate will work with the Wealth Management business segment to develop, maintain and enhance capabilities (online, offline, service and mobile) by providing thorough analysis and insight into customer behavior, activities and preferences across various channels. To facilitate this goal, the position works closely with the business to provide reporting, analysis and data-supported decision making tools to shape the current and future digital strategy of the organization.

Using data from various sources (online, offline, third party, etc.) the incumbent will clearly identify and recommend actions to improve the overall effectiveness and efficiency of the digital channel, processes and marketing campaigns, while maintaining a path toward growth within the business line. This role will develop clear business and measurement objectives for each digital initiative through collaboration with internal customers and marketing team members.

This position requires strong analytical skills, an eye for numbers, intellectual curiosity, proficiency at problem solving, an understanding of digital and traditional media, and strong presentation skills. Most importantly, the successful candidate should have a strong desire to help shape the organization’s digital commerce future.

Specific deliverables include:
Develop a true working partnership with the Wealth Management Line of Business to design and implement a comprehensive strategy to support existing and future digital business initiatives. Become immersed in the process, business objectives and data to provide deep insight and analytical value to the organization to shape digital projects.

Work with the line of business to develop an effective set of dashboards, reports, KPIs and metrics to inform day-to-day business decisions and to expose areas of opportunity. These reports will be used by the LOB to better understand the effectiveness of web site movement, decision making, close of business, social media acumen and campaign management.

Prioritize requests to deliver reports/analysis and projects

Leverage appropriate resources to guide the development of enhanced (ad hoc) analyses for the business to provide insight in short, medium and long-term strategic initiatives. Utilize new tools and reporting techniques to identify areas of opportunities for business growth.

Interpret online and offline behavior from various data sources with a focus on strengthening The Hartford's web experience. Facilitate conversations with stakeholders, technical and analytical resources to focus on key performance indicators such as acquisition, conversion and retention to ensure that the proper value is associated with the data or data combinations. Utilize data sources to stitch together a comprehensive customer-centric view of our digital properties. This will span online and offline data sources (the web, call centers, policy and demographics) to be presented to line of business owners for improvements or system/process performance.

Generate effective and persuasive analytical reports to be presented to key stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

Qualifications
WHAT ARE THE QUALIFICATIONS?

Minimum of 3 years analytics experience, with at least 2 years working within business-to-business and business-to-consumer industry with relevant experience.
Experience with web analytics tools such as Adobe Insight, Unica/NetInsight, Omniture/SiteCatalyst, Coremetrics, Google Analytics or Webtrends.
Minimum of 3 years business analysis experience. Includes understanding business drivers and expertise in reporting tools, such as: Excel, Business Objects, SAS, etc.
Exposure to data extraction tools: SQL Navigator, Toad or SAS.
Ability to build cooperative, productive relationships with internal clients and vendors and interact effectively with all levels of management.
Ability to combine customer-based information with understanding of the industry and company to create insights and influence idea development and decision-making processes. Track record for fostering open and rapid communication, influencing for impact and negotiating for success.
Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to interact within all levels of the organization.
Strategic Thinking/Agility: Good understanding of the business challenges, needs, and expectations of a wide range of customers across multiple business segments. Ability to link web analytics to the business drivers and competitive environment
