CONTRACT: 5 MONTHS – PART-TIME (16-18 HRS/WEEK)
LOCATION: NYC
PAY: $44.72/HR

** A FORTUNE 500 FASHION COMPANY IS LOOKING FOR AN EXCEPTIONAL WEB DESIGNER! **

JOB DESCRIPTION:
• Understand the creative and marketing objectives for each project assigned
• Brainstorm and pattern with Art director and cross-functional partners to create innovative brand communication, translate merchandising strategies to elevate and evolve the brand
• Collaborate closely with merchants and sometimes marketing to translate merchandising strategy into compelling, brand-right creative.
• Attend strategy meetings and contribute to setting creative strategy
• Ensure deadlines for assigned projects are met
• Manage workflow and project timelines for the web design projects with the aid of the Project Manager and Art Director.
• Produce, optimize and output final Web-ready digital artwork
• Maintain absolute accuracy and attention to detail on a variety of projects simultaneously throughout the creative and production process
• Respond quickly to design challenges and new business needs

MUST HAVE:
• Advanced level proficiency in Adobe CS. Expert Photoshop skills
• Sophisticated sense of design/style
• Strong design fundamentals (type, image, color)
• Passion for user experience and digital retail
• Strong understanding of grid systems and responsive design systems
• Ability to translate complex design challenges into clear, customer-friendly experiences
• Working understanding of ecommerce, UX, and marketing best practices
• Discerning eye for photo editing, cropping, and compositing
• Bachelor’s Degree (Design / Interactive) or equivalent experience
• Proven talent in graphic and interactive design
• 3-5 years Web design in an agency or a brand
• Advanced Photoshop, with excellent digital photo-manipulation and compositing skills, working knowledge Illustrator, InDesign
• Knowledge of best practices for Web image optimization
• Understanding of the capabilities and best practices relating to the use of front-end Web technologies, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Flash, AJAX
• Motion graphics & video editing experience for web (After Effects & Final Cut Pro) a plus
• Strong retail/fashion brand or agency experience desired; ecommerce experience ideal
