Visual/Graphic Designer

We have partnered with a cool Fortune 500 retailer seeking a Visual/ Graphic Designer! If you are looking for opportunities to provide on-brand design concepts, extensions and design refinements for all in-store graphics and private label food products; as well as core and seasonal house-ware products than this is your match!

In this role you will be responsible for assisting the Creative Director in creating compelling graphics for use in seasonal shops, as well as tracking projects making sure timelines are met and on budget. The wide variety of projects provides many great design opportunities and keeps things very interesting!

The Jist:

Provide compelling design concepts and design refinements for in-store graphics and some product packaging
Work with Art Director to ensure that brand communication is aligned and consistent with company business objectives
Collaborate with internal business partners to determine project expectations/scope of work, and to get product, offer details, running date and other required information to accurately compete and release graphics.
Apply new and established design criteria to create packaging for new private label foods
Partner with Production Artists; communicate design criteria and establish timeline for completion of each project
Manage multiple design projects simultaneously
Support the Creative Director with additional projects as needed

Desired Skills and Experience
• Digital portfolio of work is required
• Excellent design knowledge and skills
• Expert level proficiency in Photoshop, and Illustrator CS6 is required
• Strong and flexible illustration and composition skills required
• Strong typography skills required
• Strong managerial, organizational, time management and prioritization skills required. Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
• Excellent team player with the ability to apply innovative ideas and critical strategic thinking to projects and the organization’s opportunities
• Ability to anticipate needs, innovate and flourish in a fast-paced retail environment
• Ability to execute last-minute changes accurately and efficiently
• Ability to deliver initial concepts to final production
• Experience in retail design. POP graphics, and storefront window designs and promotional graphics is preferred.
