Visual UX Designer - Multiple Platforms!

Our client is seeking a talented customer-obsessed Senior User Experience Designer to join our growing design team in Seattle, WA. This team owns the customer purchasing and discoverability experience across multiple devices; Web, Mobile Web, Android, iOS, and E-Ink. They offer a creative, fast paced, entrepreneurial work environment where you’ll be driving a key part of the shopping experience on behalf of customers. You will use your UX and visual design skills to create elegant, intuitive user experiences that meet evolving business needs and influence future patterns which enhance the Newsstand shopping experience. You must be able to translate complex customer interactions into simple, engaging user-centered solutions, while being flexible and responsive in a fast-paced collaborative peer environment. You will work collaboratively with other designers, engineers, product managers, and executives to deliver and follow through the planning and development lifecycle for a variety of Newsstand single issue and subscription based initiatives. The scope of this position extends across a manifold of features and product lines throughout our publishing business, so the ability to balance high-level, holistic reasoning with detail-oriented feature design is imperative.

Responsibilities
Work closely with cross-functional teams to help define Kindle Newsstand discoverability and shopping experiences for a variety devices
Design Product UX from concept through production
Understand target users deeply: develop or work from user profiles & conduct task analysis, create user scenarios or user stories, help to create and analyze user research.
Integrate and manage Kindle brand through all visual design
Create wireframes, flowcharts, prototypes, error states, high def mockups and detailed design specifications to describe the user experience, user interface, and advertising concepts
Actively participate in usability testing and interpret data
Present design work to the product team, engineering team, and business stakeholders for review and feedback.
Contribute to user interface design and development best practices and standards at Amazon.
Partner with highly technical development teams for product launch.
Handle multiple projects in an agile, fast-paced environment.


Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or equivalent professional experience.
- At least 5 years of experience as a user experience designer, interaction designer, information architect, or similar role, and using a variety of design tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Keynote, Visio/OmniGraffle, and Axure.
- An online portfolio or samples of work demonstrating experience creating great user-centered design solutions and UI design expertise is a requirement for application
- Experience working in a collaborative team and working directly with developers for implementation of designs

- Has relevant work experience in the eCommerce space
- Constantly searches for simplicity
- Loves reading

This is a four month contract with definite FTE/perm potential!
