Visual UI designer- Temp to perm, Full time!

Our client, a well known health company in Cambridge, needs a Sr. Product Interaction/UX designer to join their creative team! We’re looking for someone who is used to working in a fast paced, creative environment where you have worked with visual designers and developers.

Our ideal candied would be great at working from an evolving style guide to create beautifully crafted interfaces from rough sketches and wireframes. Do you geek out on working in challenging domains and solving tough design problems? Want to help a great product that helps patients working together to improve healthcare? This could be the role for you! We're also looking for someone for an eye for visual design who understands the design process from beginning to end.

Key responsibilities:

- take sketches, wireframes or user flows and translate them into beautifully crafted designs

- Collaborate with interaction designers to ensure simple & consistent screens that pull from existing patterns in our style guide, or extend it when necessary

- a clear understanding of responsive design and how it translates in your work

- Collaborate with members of the team to develop engaging landing pages, email templates, and sign up experiences

- Work with developers to balance ideal visual expression with implementable CSS & responsive design solutions

- Create data visualizations that make complicated information easy to understand

- update design patterns and style guides as they evolve

- some light icon design work when needed

Minimum qualifications:

- BA/BS degree in design-related field

- experience designing web apps or mobile software products

- A strong eye for layout, color, typography and iconography

-A portfolio demonstrating intelligent problem solving and the ability to execute beautiful and usable interface designs

- An understanding of what makes a design (especially yours!) useful, usable and delightful

- The ability to articulate the "why" of your design decisions as well as a willingness to give and respond to constructive criticism

- Fluent in Photoshop and Illustrator

- experience with coding and front end development. Would love to see someone with some CSS and HTML5 experience if possible!

- this is a full time, temp to perm role, on-site in Cambridge MA with a short 2-3 month trial period. Please send your portfolio, resume and salary expectations to be considered
