Job Title: UI Visual Designer

Client:

An international creative agency specialising in innovative digital and industrial design projects.
The agency was established in 1998, employs a high caliber international team of around 55 people,
and has demonstrated strong growth over the last five years. It is a quality-focused consultancy
working for leading international brands, crafting unique and exquisite user experiences
overarching product, interaction and service design. They develops brand-defining strategies
and takes pride in translating these into well-crafted design solutions. The agency takes particular
pride in the fact that a high percentage of their output goes to market with long-lasting impact
on the brand equity of their clients and their position in the market.

They are looking for a Visual UI Designer to join their UI/UX team on a freelance/permanent basis.


Purpose of Role

As a Visual Designer, you will become involved in all stages of a project,
including research, concept development and preparation of client presentations. Each
member of the team is critical to the success of a project.

You will be required to work both individually and as a member of a team, to undertake
various tasks under the supervision of a Director or Senior Designer.

You will be asked to perform a variety of tasks ranging from brainstorming and
conceptual design down to graphic execution of user interfaces and other materials
requiring visual design input. In addition you will interface with clients and end users
supporting or conducting research in the interest of the ongoing project and the company.


Context

The Company has been undergoing rapid growth and client demand for a superior service
has come to include rigorous strategic research to support conclusions provided by the agency
to the client in the context of the design solutions provided.


Key Tasks

General tasks include but are not limited:

- Work both in a in team and individually on interaction and experience design
related projects
- Support the end-to-end design process from concept to execution and
implementation, including:
- Research
- Research Analysis
- Brainstorming
- Concept Development
- Development Design and Execution
- Presentation Documentation
- Design specification and documentation
- Liaison with clients in a professional and mature way
- Coaching of fellow team members, including knowledge transfer
- Flexibility to travel to client meetings and work on site if required
- If not directly engaged in project work, always seek tasks that add value to the
company. These include:
- Maintaining the company presentation and web presence
- Maintaining and improving the file structure and organisation on the
server
- Assist in sourcing and recruitment of new talent
- Researching new trends and developments relevant to other ongoing
projects
- Improve your software and design skills in a way that is useful to the
company


Responsibilities

- You have full ownership and responsibility of any task given to you
- Always ensure that deadlines and requested deliverables are met to the highest
level of quality, both for internal reviews and external presentations
- Work result-oriented, always ensure the highest level of execution is delivered to
the client and that work in progress can be shared at any time of the project
- Pro-actively push the level of quality in both thinking and execution, constantly
come up with new ideas and ways of solving problems, even if project briefs are
similar
- Consider the bigger picture and understand the overall context and requirements
- of each individual project
- Ensure that your and your teams work is always properly documented, stored and
archived
- Ensure that team members working with you are utilised according to their skills
and to their maximum potential
- In addition to project-related responsibilities, you will occasionally be asked to
undertake tasks, which assist with the general day to day running of the Studio.


Experience, Knowledge and Skills

Qualifications
• University graduate

• Knowledge of web-based and embedded systems
• End-to-end management of large scale, design-led software/hardware projects
