Position Description

The Manager of Visual Merchandising develops creative and inspiring visual displays, merchandising strategies and presentations that support the goals and business objectives of each season and/or product launch for Department Store Premium Wholesale Channels within the Americas region. He or she will work collaboratively with marketing, merchant and creative teams on execution plans. The Manager must be a strong leader with the ability to articulate their point of view with confidence. He or she must have a strong understanding of the competitive landscape and be able to interpret appropriate trends as they relate to the beauty business. This position reports to the Senior Manager of Visual Merchandising.



Primary Responsibilities

Lead and manage the visual merchandising process for Premium Wholesale (gondola) environments in Department Stores (eg. Macy’s Impulse and Dillard’s Edge).
Create innovative and compelling presentations that support company initiatives and business objectives.
Partner with outside fixture vendors on all gondola fixture updates, including: assortments, planograms, renderings, prototypes and instructions for each update.
Lead cross functional collaboration with Merchandising, Production, Operations and Visual Operations Teams to ensure Visual presentations are accurately represented and executed.
Prioritize workload and determine additional efficiencies within the department.
Manage and oversee the production of the visual directives and visual communication updates.
Partner with Project Managers on all signage, fixture and prop elements.
Identify new fixture and creative display opportunities as needed.
Participate in special projects and corporate events/set-ups as needed.


Job Qualifications

Position based in San Francisco head office.
5+ years of corporate visual merchandising experience (preferably in beauty and/or gondola environments).
Mandatory proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (specifically In-Design, Photoshop and Illustrator) and fluent experience with Microsoft Office.
Highly organized, process-oriented and exemplary time-management skills.
Strong comfort level with written and verbal communication skills to all levels of management.
Idea-driven, takes initiative and a creative problem solver.
Positive, constructive, self-aware and able to give and receive feedback.
Able to physically set up product and visual merchandising displays, move fixtures and use common household tools.
