Join the leading international coffee retailer HQ'd in Seattle! We have an immediate need for a Visual Merch Designer to join our prestigious client! You will help develop retail store execution that achieves enterprise and brand strategy for assigned category and/or business unit bringing to life both our brand attributes along side seasonal initiatives that align with our corporate goals.
Summary of Key Responsibilities:
Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following: Collaborates with department manager, director, and category teams to develop visual merchandising solutions for basic standards, promotions, events and product launches for retail stores. Manages competing priorities of projects to align with Company prioritization. Provides functional expertise and executes functional responsibilities. Applies merchandising practices and placement for products based on store type, capacity, standards, and assortments Collaborates with team members to develop fixtures, smallwares, signage, and seasonal trim for retail stores as they relate to retail stores. Communicates visual plan for promotions and events to visual communications team for production of schematics to retail partners. Collaborates with internal cross functional teams (Marketing, Operations, Categories, Fulfillment) on assigned projects. Executes assigned department projects that promote brand identity and enhance the experience for the consumer. Advises category or business unit to build best possible product or assortment, which can execute in store. Prepares, communicates and educates client groups and team on changes in policies and practices within the organization. Develops plans for assigned projects, executes, and evaluates results.
Summary of Experience:
Visual merchandising experience: 2 to 4 years. Proven ability to manage financial analysis in retail environment.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to apply knowledge of multidisciplinary business principles and practices to achieve successful outcomes in cross functional projects and activities. Articulate excellent written and verbal skills. Strong presentation skills. Strong aesthetic and visual design / styling skills. Proven strength in problem analysis and creative problem solving. Strong organizational skills. Act and work with a sense of urgency. Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines. Ability to build effective working relationships with cross functional teams and individuals. Competition: knows what other retailers are doing and can adapt learnings. Proficient in Mac programs; basic use of digital cameras. Basic understanding of Adobe InDesign and Photoshop.
**1-2 years minimum for experience, other skills: project management, navigating complex organization, visual merchandising in food a plus but not necessary if overall visual merchandising experience is there, detail oriented, prioritization and managing competing priorities
