Visual Merchandising Designer

Join the leading, global coffee retailer HQ'd in Seattle and bring your visual merchandising talents to the table! We have an immediate need for a talented Visual Merchandise Designer to join this winning team! This role is contract through November with a strong chance to extend and/or convert to FTE upon mutual fit.

As a visual merchandising designer, you will develop retail store executions for Lobby, Packaged Food and Food businesses - bringing to life both our brand attributes alongside seasonal initiatives that align with our corporate goals. Based on future budget and business needs, as well as contract worker performance, this contract position may lead to opportunities to become a full time employee, however his is a possibility not a guarantee.

Summary of Key Responsibilities

- Collaborates with department manager, director, and category teams to develop visual merchandising solutions for promotions, product launches and programs
- Understands and implements the strategy of the brief and backgrounders through visual merchandising options
- Organizes complex merchandising information into visuals and creates directive content for retail level implementation
- Manages competing priorities of projects to align with Company prioritization
- Develops plans for assigned projects, executes, and evaluates results
- Supports department projects and programs that promote brand identity and enhance the customer experience
- Collaborates with internal studio teams on assigned projects

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Retail visual merchandising experience 2-4 years
- Ability to apply knowledge of multidisciplinary business principles and practices to achieve successful outcomes in cross-functional projects and activities
- Strong aesthetic and design skills. Able to articulate design concepts through illustration or other visual means
- Strong presentation skills
- Articulate – excellent written and verbal skills
- Proven strength in problem analysis and creative problem solving
- Strong organizational skills
- Act and work with a sense of urgency, prioritize accordingly and consistently meet deadlines
- Ability to build effective working relationships with cross functional teams and individuals
- Aware of trends and competitive influences and is able to apply in daily creative thinking
- Proficient in Mac programs, Microsoft Office, Adobe InDesign
