Duties:

The nature of the work is focused on the appearance of product, communications, or collateral materials. Under the direction/supervision of a Senior Designer or Director, generates innovative ideas for 2d and 3d design projects including graphics and/or environments. Under the direction of a Sr. Designer, creates original design solutions Communicates and presents design concepts to team/leader/Director Creates presentation materials that effectively communicate design concepts. Works with design leader and category team to ensure feasibility of designs, budget, merchandising needs and overall program needs Produces electronic files for production purposes Produces electronic files for production purposes Actively gains knowledge and experience regarding Nike’s design philosophy, products and processes.

Works under the direction of a Sr. Designer or Director, and collaborates in the development of innovative, original 2D, 3D retail display designs, all in-store story telling elements (signage, way-finding, etc) and digital design solutions for retail environments and programs. Works within team projects and works independently to complete the most technically challenging individual projects. Elevates all design projects to Sr Designer or Director. Communicates and presents design concepts to team/leader/Director and creates presentation materials that effectively communicate vision and goals.

Skills:
Bachelors degree in Graphic, Architectural or Industrial Design plus 3-5 years of progressively technically sophisticated design experience. Proficient ability to apply and perform design skills, including drawing/sketching, typography, ideation, color theory, use of texture, spacing, and scale, visual presentation development and layout that is supported by a portfolio of non-computer-based creative art and design. Strong familiarity with current trends, color, and design. Must be computer literate using Macintosh computer design applications. Effective oral and written communications skills in local market language, including presentations. Ability to work cooperatively with staff, share ideas and develop effective responses. Proven ability to work in a rapidly changing, high-growth environment. Ability to manage multiple and competing work priorities, demands, and changes. Typical Office: This is a typical office job, with no special physical requirements or unusual work environment.

Key skills and experience for this role: Graphic Design foundation and proven skills. Experience with designing for retail environments (branding, story-telling, visual display design and visual communications.) Understanding and experience with designing graphics and visual communications for 3 dimensional spaces. Works closely with store designers, fixture designers and 3D visualizers. Works with Mac and key applications: Adobe Creative Suite 6, SketchUp Pro is helpful.

Education:
Typically requires a Bachelors Degree and minimum of 2 years directly relevant work experience Note: One of the following alternatives may be accepted: PhD or Law + 1 yr; Masters + 0-3 yrs; Associates degree + 1-3 yrs; High School + 3-5 yrs.
