Visual Designer/Developer

The award-winning Marketing team for our client functions as an in-house agency providing integrated marketing services such as strategy development, market research, advertising, print collateral, digital marketing and public relations. The Digital Designer is responsible for executing strategic concepts, bringing campaigns to life with new ideas, and meeting timely deliverables. The fullest understanding of graphic design, typography and digital standards is as essential as the experience to execute projects of all sizes, and complete them with resourcefulness and dedication. The Digital Designer reports to the Creative Director and collaborates with the marketing team. The Digital Designer is an important contact point within our organization, so they can expect to offer advice and share knowledge with colleagues.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Create high-quality web deliverables, demonstrating the ability to balance design aesthetics with technical platform capabilities and limitations all while considering UX research, wireframes and prototypes.
Work closely with copywriters, developers and others to produce a strategic, team-driven end product that leads to a top-notch user experience.
Concept and create designs that align with the university’s brand while enhancing the user experience. This position will include, but not be limited to, designing digital and print materials, user interface designs, and responsive designs for mobile and tablet.
Have an understanding of innovative trends in digital design and usability and apply interactive principles with HTML, CSS, and core web technologies.
Participate in concept development, generating solutions and delivering new concept presentations to other members of the team.
Collaborate across the marketing office to raise the standards of digital creativity

QUALIFICATIONS
Strong knowledge of brand development and the creative process
3+ years of related professional experience
A great understanding of the digital industry, the latest trends and an understanding of how to use this to deliver great creative across these platforms
A knowledge of UX and UI principles and how to design to them
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office and a CMS
Ability to articulate aesthetic and visual design principles and how they meet marketing goals
Experience designing and developing websites and HTML emails with HTML, CSS and relevant tools
Excellent team player with a proactive approach
Solid organizational skills and attention to detail
The ability to work in an iterative design/development environment
