Visual Designer (mid-level)

Aquent's client is looking for a mid-level Visual Designer to define the user experience across a family of web-based products and services, including both in-product and desktop touch points. The successful candidate will be experienced in end-to-end interaction design with a demonstrated ability to apply strategic thinking and business goals to all design work, and possess a keen understanding of interaction design patterns and trends.

The Visual Designer will work closely with several cross-functional teams including other design organizations, business analysts, business owners and engineering groups.


• Translate visual needs and business requirements into features and functionality for application and web experiences

• Gather and synthesize business requirements and input from multiple sources including customers, stakeholders, business architects, and engineers

• Design user interfaces to improve user productivity, discoverability and simplicity

• Create alternative design solutions, evaluating them to choose the best approach

• Meet and collaborate with users and business partners to validate conceptual designs

• Develop UX documentation (i.e. visual design comps, style guides, specs, prototypes)

• Deliver design documentation for use by a wide range of audiences including Product Owners and UI Development teams


• Bachelor's degree or equivalent required in Design or other relevant field

• 2-4 years of relevant experience

• Strong portfolio demonstrating visual design work

• Strong written and oral communication and presentation skills

• Solid understanding of user-centered design principles

• Familiarity with usability research methods

• Experience developing sketches, comps, specifications, and presenting same
