Visual Designer, Relationship Marketing

The successful candidate will help conceive, create, and execute groundbreaking initiatives across online and offline marketing channels.

The ideal candidate will provide concept, execution, and delivery of assigned onsite and direct marketing assets that both support user experience and successfully exceed business goals. The ideal candidate works well in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment. Must have substantial experience designing for complex web sites and online marketing campaigns. The successful candidate will have strength in the following areas: consumer/retail marketing, direct marketing, photo art direction, and strong internet experience. This position is based in San Jose.

Job responsibilities
Must deliver strong design concepts and segmentation-driven graphics for onsite and direct marketing through a variety of channels including: site graphics, landing pages, direct response email, seasonal and promotional marketing campaigns.

Responsible for executing assigned projects with deliverables sometimes developed on a compressed schedule, but always meeting deadlines. Senior Designer must be able to diagnose customer needs and business objectives, creative briefs; and communicate schedules and project plans.

Must be a skilled presenter and manage relationships with internal staff on a variety of creative design issues. The Senior Designer collaborates closely with Senior Manager, the design, merchandising, copy, planning, strategy, operations, and WebDev teams to ensure best practices for realization of designs and proper delivery of assets.

Must have a thorough knowledge of computers and the Internet including PC and Mac platforms. Must be well versed in all applications for the creation of graphic design for internet sites and the requirements technology places upon design is critical.

Expert in the following software: Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Flash, Macromedia Fireworks, and Adobe Acrobat.

Must be well organized and detailed oriented to ensure graphic assets are created to specifications and standards.

Candidate must work well in a fast-paced team environment, and have strong communication skills. Must be organized, have excellent time management skills and be detail oriented. Must be able to manage their own time in an efficient manner without supervision to meet deadlines, incorporate meetings and follow-ups and maintain design excellence.

Must understand the user experience and how creative solutions contribute to delivering a better user experience. Awareness of the business model and how it works is essential and must focus on employing creative solutions that will map back to specific business objectives.

Minimum of 7-10 years design and production experience at a web site, ad agency, marketing communications firm, in-house design department, or design studio. Online portfolio is required.

Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design from a 4-year University or art school (or equivalent experience).
