Visual Designer

Our large financial services client, located in Boston, MA, is looking for a mid-level Visual Designer to join their award-winning in-house agency for a year-long contract assignment.

The Visual Designer develops strategy-driven communications, promotional campaigns and creative assets that support and enhance the brand across all channels globally.

The Visual Designer works closely with the group Creative Director, Design Director, project management, content teams and web developers to translate brand, marketing and creative strategies into engaging, high-quality, client- and production-ready deliverables. Candidates are expected to have experience with a wide range of visual media, including print, digital/interactive, motion graphics and environmental graphics, and have a strong focus on brand integrity. They must be able to work flexibly and effectively with internal teams and with clients, efficiently manage a varied project roster, and confidently communicate with internal clients and production vendors where appropriate.

A high level of creativity, flexibility and deep understanding of typography, color, composition and messaging are essential to success.

Responsibilities:
• Turn brand and creative strategies into beautiful, sophisticated, brand-appropriate designs, communication systems and campaigns
• Facilitate efficient, on-time delivery of projects through close coordination with the Creative Director, Design Director, Project Manager and other relevant Global Marketing team members
• Promote brand integrity and creative quality across deliverables, media types and systems through proactive education, standards management and delivery of design artwork and templates to third parties
• Art direct freelance designers and agencies where needed
• Prepare final digital files, including production artwork, interactive assets, templates and archive files
• Facilitate design production, including writing specifications, soliciting vendor bids, attending site visits and press approvals where appropriate
• Prepare and attend client presentations where appropriate
• Serve as client contact when needed

Experience:
• Formal training in graphic design
• 3-5 years of hands-on experience in a design studio or advertising agency
• Advanced experience in Adobe Creative Cloud design apps
(at minimum InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Acrobat)
• Hands-on experience creating branded communication systems and campaigns
• Experience developing visual identities through multiple marketing vehicles and visual media
• Thorough knowledge of offset and digital printing, and on-screen reproduction
• Expert at creating clean production-ready artwork
• Experience coordinating with external production vendors
• Experience developing desktop, mobile or web UIs is preferred
• An understanding of B-to-B, institutional marketing and/or the financial category is a plus Start Time: 8:30 AM
