Overview:
Visual Designers weave iconography, typography, color, space and texture together to help our users successfully navigate our products. We believe that all of our products should be beautiful and accessible. As a Visual Designer, you’ll delight users with designs that inspire, engage and excite them. You’ll rely on user-centered design principles to produce high-quality visuals—from concept to execution—across many platforms. As a part of the Android Auto team, you’ll collaborate with your fellow designers to expand the visual language into an innovative and emerging new space: the car.

Daily Responsibilities:
Production design work
Visual design exploration for new features
Support on misc visual pieces in order to ship our product

Additional Responsibilities:
Contribute designs to one or more of the client's consumer facing products.
Communicate effectively in a cross-functional product development team and present ideas and designs effectively.
Present the user interface visually so information is easy to read, easy to understand and easy to find.
Collaborate on conceptual design work and take ownership of developing new visual expressions.
Solicit and incorporate directions and input from visual design team lead.

Minimum skills:
BA/BS in Design (e.g. interaction, graphic, visual communications, product, industrial), HCI, CS, or a related field or equivalent practical experience.
Willing to consider newer grads if they have experience with software-based products or apps, and or experience with structuring exceptional, print-based materials
Fluency in Photoshop, Illustrator and/or Sketch.

Preferred Skills:
Experience designing outstanding software-based products or apps, and/or experience with structuring exceptional, print-based materials is a Must.
Experience in interfacing and collaborating with software engineers/developers is a Plus.
Proven ability to act as a leader in communicating conceptual ideas and design rationale, all within a user-centered design process is a Plus.
Must be self-motivated to prioritize and manage workload and meet critical project milestones and deadlines is a Must.
Excellent problem-solving skills.
Ability to work as an individual contributor and in a team setting to collaborate on design
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build good working relationships.
