Our client in Piscataway, NJ is a leader in the telecommunications field and has asked for our help identifying a JR/MID LEVEL VISUAL DESIGNER for a long term contract engagement.

Location- Piscataway, local candidates only please
Duration- Long term contract
Travel- Some travel required
Hourly pay rate- DOE (jr/mid level)

The Internet Sales & Operations Visual Designer designs creative and implements web standards on the development of all projects related to various sites with speed and visual accuracy. The candidate will need to have a “customer first” approach to design, and be able to see their work through the perspective of our customers. Take direction based on project timelines and deliverables to support business objectives. Maintains an advanced knowledge of emerging technologies related to industry while working with an existing team of designers. Typically reports to the head of a unit/department.

This individual will be well versed in graphic design and will demonstrate a basic knowledge of programming skills. Individual must be a flexible person who is comfortable juggling different duties in a fast-paced production environment. The candidate should have solid communication skills and ability to work closely with designers, copywriters, user experience designers, directors, agencies and other third party vendors as needed.


What you’ll be doing
• Creates exemplary project deliverables including webpage layouts, banners, icons or UI elements, and more.

• Designs user experiences for multiple digital channels, including mobile websites and apps, tablets, social platforms, etc.

• Coordinates deliverables with other team resources in addition to managing own schedule; able to create estimates for potential project work.

• Comply with group or departmental standards with consideration of graphic design.

• Ability to understand and modify design to take into account user scenarios and personas, competitive analyses, and analytics and test results.

• Recommend future design updates based on page templates provided and inbound content requests.

• Analyze the external marketplace, industry trends, customers, and competitors to develop cutting-edge solutions that lead to improved experience.

• Exceptional focus and follow-through abilities with track record of efficiency and productivity.

• Ability to understand complex business issues and develop solutions to simplify these for end users.

• Develop exceptional relationship with co-workers, management and customers.



Travel will be required to company sites to support remote staff and partners approximately 10% of the time. Website is “open for business” 24x7/365; on-call coverage with cell phone availability is required. The candidate must be willing to work extra and/or flexible hours to meet project deadlines. Available to work evenings and/or weekends as needed for support of specific project, product, process, or system launches.


Propose Cutting Edge Enhancements, Setting Standards & Reviewing Trends in Marketplace
Candidate should be familiar with current design trends and development technologies to push the business forward as the leader in the industry. Candidate will be responsible for staying up-to-date with changes in web technology, design and usability trends and implementation where applicable.

Candidate must be able to work in a collaborative team environment which includes discussions around creative reviews, receiving constructive feedback to and from fellow team members (internal and external).

Must be able to communicate with fellow managers on team to ensure consistency in team standards and procedures.


Design/Development
Candidate will be responsible for creating Photoshop Comps, updating creative such as web banners and marquees, implementation of front-end coding (W3C-Compliant HTML/CSS/JavaScript), providing/advising of functional/design requirements to IT, page development and maintenance in WCMS & Adobe Publish, etc.

Requirements
• BFA/BA degree in graphic design, web design, digital, interaction design, or equivalent experience in related field.
• 1 or more years of experience as a designer, or similar web experience role.
• Portfolio or link to portfolio website to accompany resume is required. ***
• Background check and reference checks required upon hire.
