Visual Designer

The Designer will work directly with Brand Managers, the Associate Creative Directors (copy and design), agency partners and cross functionally to support client and in-house team projects. Deliverables include various print, web, email, social, brand identity, and presentation deck layouts. The successful candidate must have a strong understanding of layout, type and digital/print production, as well as the ability to take ownership of projects from start to finish.

Desired Skills and Experience Requirements:

• BA in Visual Arts/Design, or strong design background with 2-3 years previous production experience in a digital agency environment
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Meticulous attention to detail and ability to catch any and all mistakes while preparing deliverables
• Able to thrive in a deadline-oriented, fast-paced start up environment all while keeping your cool juggling multiple projects
• Takes direction well and able to execute at a high level across multiple platforms and mediums
• Excellent time management skills with ability to work on multiple projects without being micromanaged
• Experience designing for digital environments
• Portfolio demonstrating exceptional production skills

Responsibilities:

• Execute on consistent art/creative direction
• Design using existing style guides
• Create brand identities, icons and guidelines for future B2B and B2C brand marketing
• Manage and maintain assets for internal and external end users
• Positively handle client’s and internal requests for design changes
• Thorough knowledge of various stages of the design and production process
• Multitask

• Exhibit a positive attitude and respect toward others
• Be able to operate with minimal supervision
• Be flexible and always a team player

Core Skills:

• Responsive and efficient; ability to organize and manage multiple projects
• Quick grasp of project parameters and brand standards
• Must be accurate to specifications, true to deadlines, and resilient in the face of ever-changing demands
• Competence in area of artwork build and pre-press and the interrelationship between the two
• Solid understanding of page and screen layout, typography, and interaction
• Proficient in photo editing, color correction, and image manipulation
• Experience managing multiple projects and priorities and effectively developing timelines.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to resolve unexpected issues.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to meet deadlines in fast paced environment, handle multiple tasks simultaneously and keep track of details
• Crop, resize, and optimize files for the web
• Revise ads as required through the proofing process, checking for missing elements, re-arranging images and copy blocks as needed.
• Regularly communicate work status
• Provide additional creative support on special projects as needed
• Experience working effectively with other designers
• Flash, interactive, animation and video skills a plus
