Visual Designer

Aquent is seeking a Visual Designer full-time, on-site seated in Washington DC or Northern Virginia. The Designer is responsible for creating and maintaining the visual language of the Company’s sites by transforming wireframes and artwork requirements into an intuitive, lightweight user interface.

ROLE OVERVIEW & SKILLS:
* Translate wireframes into a clean, lightweight, easy to use graphical user interface
* Take complex concepts and transform them into refreshing artwork used for promoting products.
* Translate conceptual ideas from wireframes into visuals using Adobe Photoshop
* Uphold UX standards in project execution
* Ensure brand consistency across the Company’s and partner sites
* Advise partners on appropriate style use in applications and promotions
* Collaborate with a cross-functional team to develop innovative design solutions
* Present sketches, visuals and possibly low-fidelity prototypes and negotiate design solutions to key stakeholders.
* Work closely with the engineering and QA teams to ensure that the implementation matches designs.
* Maintain and share project documentation, guidelines, and best practices

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:
* 5 years experience in Visual Design, Web Design or comparable roles in designing for the web.
* Undergraduate or Graduate degree in Graphic Design, Interaction Design, Product Design, Interactive or Multimedia Design, or related field
* Expert in Photoshop, proficient to expert in Illustrator, Omnigraffle and Axure a plus
Understanding of HTML, CSS, W3C Accessibility
* Proven skills in graphic design and web design. Your design portfolio should demonstrate an excellent eye for typography, mastery of clean and intuitive layouts, purposeful color, and a strong attention to detail
* Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced cross-functional team environment
