Visual Designer

The Visual Designer is responsible for creating and executing design concepts that back up the company brand and guidelines, as well as coming up with innovative new designs to implement. This is a contract to hire position with potential to be perm. Looking for someone who can work on-site in Costa Mesa 40 hours a week. This is an opportunity to work for a successful Global company and work with a team of 5 people including a Creative Director, 2 Designers, 1 Project Manager, 2 Copyeditors, and 1 Videographer.

Responsibilities:

  • Projects include: branding, graphics, interactive, research/strategic, or environmental design for print media or digital
  • Manage the work flow on creative projects to ensure the timely production of advertisements, digital (email and web design), trade show communications, and other collateral
  • Working on colors, images, text style, and layout for web design and emails and passing off to marketing automation specialist and developers to deploy
  • 60% of work will be in print - develop the overall layout and production design for advertisements, brochures, magazines, and corporate reports
  • Project manage multiple projects at once that run parallel with each other, ability to time manage and shuffle from one project to the other
  • Meet with internal clients or the creative/art director to determine the scope of a project and advise clients on strategies to reach a particular audience
  • Small portion will be focused on infographics
  • ​Creating client facing marketing materials 
  • Work closely with copywriters to determine the message the design should portray

Requirements: 

  • 5+ years of experience in design role in a print and digital capacity
  • Proficiency in web and multimedia software and applications
  • Expertise in Adobe CS
  • Basic HTML/CSS 
  • Experience in Motion Graphics and Sketch is a PLUS
