Aquent's client, a large tech company headquartered in Mountain View, CA, is seeking a Visual Designer for a 6–month assignment. On this team, Visual Designers weave iconography, typography, color, space and texture together to help users successfully navigate products. They believe that all their products should be beautiful and accessible. As a Visual Designer, you’ll delight users with designs that inspire, engage and excite them. You’ll rely on user-centered design principles to produce high-quality visuals—from concept to execution—across many platforms. As a part of the Auto team, you’ll collaborate with your fellow designers to expand the visual language into an innovative and emerging new space: the car. Top 3 Daily Responsibilities: 1. Contribute designs to one or more consumer facing products. 2. Communicate effectively in a cross-functional product development team and present ideas and designs effectively. 3. Present the user interface visually so information is easy to read, easy to understand and easy to find. Additional Responsibilities: - Collaborate on conceptual design work and take ownership of developing new visual expressions. - Solicit and incorporate directions and input from visual design team lead. Required Qualifications: - BA/BS in Design (e.g. interaction, graphic, visual communications, product, industrial), HCI, CS, or a related field or equivalent practical 4+ years of experience. - Fluency (2+ years) in Photoshop, Illustrator and/or Sketch. - 2-3+ Years of experience Designing outstanding software-based products or apps, and/or experience with structuring exceptional, print-based materials is a Must. - Must be self-motivated to prioritize and manage workload and meet critical project milestones and deadlines is a Must. Nice to have's: - 1+ years of experience in interfacing and collaborating with software engineers/developers is a Plus. - Proven ability to act as a leader in communicating conceptual ideas and design rationale, all within a user-centered design process is a Plus. - Excellent problem-solving skills. - Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build good working relationships.
