The Visual Designer III for Strategic Initiatives is a hybrid design professional well versed in high-level graphic design and strongly influenced by the visual design and merchandising disciplines. This senior level creative, in partnership with the experience design team, leads and directs from concept through completion, integrating 2D, 3D design and technology into holistic presentation packages for internal and external business consideration. The Visual Designer III incorporates responsive design, informational design, and touch screen strategies into a comprehensive end to end user experience flow. It is the charge of the Visual Designer III to translate desired moods, messages, and concepts into cohesive presentations. The Visual Designer III for Strategic Initiatives is a critical design leadership position responsible for partnering with the Art Director and co-mentoring a team of two designers supporting the Business Unit’s, Format Strategy and retail initiatives at 40+ hours per week. This key role will support the team with strategy and design for the several key projects.

6 retail Concept Stores targeting a $2.3M sales increase (20% revenue increase), 10 Apparel Showcase stores with a targeted $68.8M sales increase, REIT Initiatives in up 50 stores a year with marked improvement of margin per square foot, and Stand Alone Appliance and Mattress concepts to deliver 53%-70% IRR for test markets in 4 locations. This team leadership is also actively engaged in creating curated Member Journey destinations that ladder directly leadership vision and directives. Past success stories have been Home Reinvention in Fox Valley and North Riverside which have increased department sales. This effort will launch will be phased into an additional ten stores in 2016

The Visual Designer III will be called upon to:

o Design and develop creative solutions that are unique and award winning;
o Be a team player and collaborator
o Articulate ideas and demonstrate a willingness to bring new ideas to the forefront frequently.
o Demonstrates effective verbal skills while building constructive and effective relationships with colleagues.
o Exhibit attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy.
o Utilize current and new programs to maximize efficiencies.
o Build and maintain a rapport with cross-discipline team members.

Requirements:

o A Bachelor's degree in fine arts and design (or comparable work experience
o Strong design background
o Advanced knowledge of Photoshop and Illustrator
o Portfolio that displays an understanding of user-centered design
o Ability to work with User Experience Designers and design from the wireframes that they have created
Must be able to deliver high quality work consistently and on time
o Attention to detail, while also considering the big picture
