Visual / Creative Designer

Looking to join a world class design team where your designs are seen and used by the entire world? The Senior Visual Designer role will help revolutionize the way people pay for goods online.

This is a 3-6 month contract position with potential for extension. This is an onsite, 40 hours/ week role based in San Francisco.

You will be responsible for designing rich and intuitive designs for web and mobile as well as how the system works holistically. This will include web and mobile applications, design style guide, branding systems, illustrations, and infographics. The designs should satisfy simplicity, ease-of-use and a rich user experience. Our ideal candidate will work closely and collaborate with the UX team, Product, Marketing, Development and Developers to create and build the ideal experience our customers need. This position requires you to be self-motivated and proactive. We’re a team that jumps in with both feet and does what needs to be done. We go above and beyond expectations – you will need to embody that attitude also.

Principle Responsibilities/Key Results Areas:
•Take ideas and concepts, and translate them into world class visual designs that effectively meet the needs of internal leaders, partners and most of all the customers
•Develop design concepts and lead visual design development throughout the entire lifecycle, from initial explorations through final design deliverables
•Push creativity, challenge established thinking, and discover new ways of solving a problem
•Communicate and present design strategy/rationale effectively to key stakeholders
•Collaborate with cross-functional teams (UX, fellow visual designers, researchers, product managers) to create compelling visual designs
•Develop the visual language, style guide as well as the specifications
•Deep understanding of brand and how to create a design system
•Spark fresh ideas that are infused in our culture and our products

Qualifications
•8+ years in related professional work
•An outstanding portfolio demonstrating the successful delivery of innovative digital interface design solutions for web and mobile
•Experience in consumer payment, e-commerce is preferred
•A strong working knowledge of interaction design, user-centered experience design, brand identity management, digital marketing and the creative process
•Demonstrated knowledge in computer and mobile platforms (iOS and Android)
•Excellent visual design skills; attention to detail and a demonstrated mastery of typography, color and page layout
•Experience and understanding of product management and the agile development process
•Expert-level proficiency with design tools in the Adobe Creative Suite
•Be able to stand by your designs and provide solid rationale to backup your decision
•In-depth familiarity with the latest capabilities in HTML, CSS and JavaScript; understanding how comps translate to code, and the ability to use prototyping tools to convey design intent
•Relevant B.S./B.A degree
