Bachelors Degree & 6+ years of experience; BS degree in film studies, cinematography or related field.
The videographer will shoot footage and assist in editing. The videographer will accomplish the bulk of the technical tasks related to production and post-production. The videographer will work closely with the creative director to execute the concept through to completion.
Responsible for cutting and editing film footage until it meets a director's approval. Rearranges and splices scenes that have already been shot, determines if scenes need to be reshot, and inserts music, sound, or optical effects.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES include:
Determines what camera equipment is necessary and obtains equipment, Transports, sets up, and operates. various production equipment including cameras, audio and video recorders, lighting equipment, props, and microphones for location and studio production, Operates and maintains proper levels and calibration of cameras, audio and video recorders, and other production equipment, Collects b-roll footage of campus as well as interviews, Edit film until it meets director's specifications., Watch scenes and determine which will end up on cutting room floor, Rearrange scenes, Work with and manipulate raw camera footage, dialogue, sound effects, graphics and special effects, Insert music, sound, or optical effects, Use nonlinear digital editing systems to edit clips, Work on feature films, television programs, music videos, corporate training videos or advertisements, Reorder and tweak the content to ensure the logical sequencing and smooth running of the film/video. Requirements: Proven working experience in video editing, Solid experience with digital technology and editing software packages (e.g. Avid Media Composer, Lightworks, Premiere, After Effects, Final Cut), Demonstrable video editing ability with a strong portfolio, Thorough knowledge of timing, motivation, continuity etc., Familiarity with special effects, 3D and compositing
