Vendor Manager

We are hiring a Technology Vendor Manager to lead business critical technology vendor relationships. This role focuses on operational excellence and growth within established solutions, and brokering future opportunities through introduction of new technologies and innovation. This role relies on facts (metrics, contracts, analysis), and employs the use of diplomacy, discernment, and relationship skills to prioritize and deliver services to Technology and Business partners.

Summary of Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
- This role is responsible for multiple strategic global technology vendor relationships.
- Develops and directs the relationships with one or more strategic (high-spend, high-value and high- dependence) technology vendors and the technology teams that deploy and run the vendor’s solutions, and/or utilize the vendor’s services
- Promotes adoption and adherence of governance process frameworks for interactions and integrations with the different vendors
- Acts as a lead subject matter expert on assigned vendor and their engagements
- Evaluates background of the vendor’s management team, the quality of management, corporate governance practices, etc.
- Understands the vendor’s strategic growth objectives, and brokers meetings that enable teams to remain up-to-date on the vendor’s technical and functional roadmaps
- Identifies goal based collaboration opportunities for vendor innovation or improvements that align with vendor growth strategy
- Is well versed on services and license agreements, and monitors vendor against agreements
- Monitors performance metrics and SLAs, evaluates effectiveness drive the expected behavior and are well-communicated and well-understood
- Leads quarterly and monthly reviews and preparations
- Acts quickly and takes accountability for elevating and pivoting relationship issues, and doing so in a manner that represents fairness to both parties
- Monitors vendors for risk, and escalates to IT and the Business
- Prepares agendas, summaries, and other key communications to all levels of the organization
- Collaborates with EMEA and China teams to raise the level of vendor engagement in these regions
- Sponsors the building of relationships amongst company leaders and their vendor counterpart
- Fosters internal alignment on key vendor initiatives
- Identifies which aspect of the vendor relationship needs coaching and development; works to achieve the closing of these gaps
-Plays a key role in the Vendor Selection process, and is consulted during contract renewals and expansion opportunities

Summary of Experience
Management of complex technology vendor relationships - 7 years
Experience working inside a Technology organization that has resulted in an understanding of technology and its applications - 5 years
Experience with cloud solutions – 2 years
Business experience - 5 years
Presentation development and delivery to executive level audience - 3 years
Licensing, subscription and services models - 5 years
Development of performance requirements, SLAs, KPIs, remedies and reporting - 5 years
Effective meeting planning and development – 3 years
Leadership roles – 3 years

Basic Qualifications Basic qualifications for this role are:
Alignment with the majority of ‘Summary of Experience’ items
Proven experience optimizing large vendor relationships
Strong interpersonal, verbal, presentation and written communication skills
Excellent knowledge of Business and Technology processes, practices, applications and initiatives
Ability to manage multiple priorities, high commitment to quality, self-starter, problem solver and decisive
Proven diplomacy and problem solving skills
Strong critical thinking skills, curious mindset and strategic agility
Ability to work in a high energy, fast paced environment
Should appropriately challenge others, and possess the ability to convince and manage stakeholders

University degree in fields related to business, computer science, sales and marketing

Day to Day: Preparing and hosting Vendor Quarterly Business Reviews, Performance Management meetings and participating in RFPs.
Primarily with Network and Partner Resources providers (HCM).
