VP Creative Director

VitaminT has a client looking for a VP/Creative Director. Individual develops leads and executes creative for marketing and advertising content and assets, including but not limited to: online merchandising; retail marketing; online, text, and email marketing; consumer print, radio, out-of-home, digital marketing, and presentations. Oversees all phases of the creative process and operational management to produce high-quality, strategically grounded creative. Develops, maintains and evolves the brand. Develops brand standards, voice, persona and guidelines that govern the creative elements for both marketing and product across the U.S. and Canada.

He/She manages a team of writers, designers, freelancers, outside vendors and brand team to provide constructive, strategic and creative feedback/direction for all materials created by the team. He/She works closely with the other senior members of the marketing team to ensure brand consistency across all materials. He/She leads advertising agencies to develop breakthrough brand ideas and creative solutions that impact overall business goals. He/She is responsible for developing synergies with Instant marketing and creative executives. Not only ensures that the department runs effectively, but creates an environment that inspires creativity and the best design and copy from his/her team. Reports to the SVP, Marketing and works collaboratively with the Marketing and Product teams to facilitate a productive relationship and flow of ideas. Effectively communicates design ideas and responds quickly to business needs. Possesses energy, passion and a desire to deliver innovative solutions for internal clients.

He/She leads the development of the brand standards and personality leading team to implement the brand personality consistently across marketing elements, website, trade and consumer advertising. He/She leads the brand identity development and execution of sub-brands. Also leads the strategic positioning and marketing efforts for all major initiatives as well as creative ideation, messaging and execution of all elements.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Develop and lead an in house team of creatives to support the Line of Business (LOB), utilizing in-house and outsourced talent.
- Lead all creative and promotional content for the kiosk UI, kiosk exterior signage and kiosk lightbox signage.
- Lead the development and execution of all creative and editorial content for the web properties.
• Establish, develop and maintain creative, conceptual and language standards as well as design parameters and stylistic guidelines for the brand DNA that are consistent with our style guide.
• Lead the creative components of the LOB’s 12-month rolling marketing calendar and go-to-market strategy.
• Provide leadership and counsel as required to external advertising and other creative services agencies.
• Develop and lead a strategic decision-making process for all creative outputs.
• Established relationships and work history with ad agencies and outside design and editorial firms as needed. Previous experience managing budgets and directing and communicating with vendors is necessary.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
• Superior leadership, communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to inspire, lead and develop a broad range of creative and technical talent.
• Strong track record in sourcing top-tier contractor talent.
• Superior management skills, balancing the needs of many constituents and working within budgets and timelines.
• Deep skills in “go-to-market” strategy development and execution, as well as with integrated communications.
• A strong working knowledge of design, brand development, interactive commerce and creative process.
• Experience with multi-channel retail, trade marketing development, and the planning and execution of promotions and advertising.
• Key understanding of digital and wireless technology channels.
• Must have familiarity with content management systems and A/B testing tools. Familiarity with product merchandising systems a plus.
• Must be able to make good business decisions in the absence of complete information.
• Must be a creative thinker with the ability to lead the creative process and transform brand strategy into creative strategy.
• Strong design and copywriting background with familiarity in a varying design applications such as Flash, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, QuarkXpress, InDesign, PowerPoint, and 3-D rendering applications.

Experience / Education:
• Minimum 15-20 years’ experience.
• Significant leadership experience in media and entertainment industry preferred
• Track record of a successful career in creative
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in communications, arts or marketing.
• Minimum of 10 years managing a creative team.
• Strong organizational and people management is a must.
