PAY: $28-$32/hr (based on experience)

OUR FORTUNE 500 ECOMMERCE CLIENT IS LOOKING FOR A VISUAL/UI DESIGNER!

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Visual/UI Designer will be responsible for concept development and innovative creative solutions for all digital marketing strategies. This individual will take projects from brainstorm phase through launch for a host of marketing vehicles including email, mobile and desktop web properties. In this role the designer will frequently be tasked with delivering multiple creative solutions to complex business problems, while partnering closely with Designers, Marketers, Merchants, Content Developers and the UI/UX teams. The designer will be responsible for using user-centered design principles to develop and challenge mobile/site experiences. The work will impact the millions of people worldwide who love our iconic brand.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Visual Design:
• Design elevated and effective site and email experiences
• Design materials that enhance the brand and the overall customer experience
• Drive innovation with editorial approach
• Concept stories that work across digital platforms and transition them into final production-ready layouts
• Follow brand standards and actively develop graphic standards
• Present work to the leadership team
• Effectively communicate functionality and strategy to web-content developers and print production team
• Work closely and collaborate with cross-functional teams including marketing, production, photo, and merchandising

UI Design:
• Create interaction designs for multiple projects each at different stages of design. Projects could range from concepting a new function of the mobile site, to designing the UI for product or marketing content, to providing guidance on best practices to the creative team
• Ensure your designs work within a responsive design system, develop and maintain guidelines for our customer-facing applications keeping in mind the brand look-and-feel
• Partner with the content development and UI/UX team teams to bring designs to life. Make adjustments to the original designs as needed in response technical requirements or limitations

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
• BA/BFA in Graphic Design or related field
• Minimum of 3 years of web and interface design experience
• Expert knowledge of user-centered interface design processes, methodology and UI best practices. Demonstrated experience with turning customer insight into interaction designs
• Ability to design interface solutions across a range of devices (e.g. desktop computer, mobile phone, tablet, retail point of sale system)
• Experience successfully partnering and directing visual UX designers to execute a final responsive design. Knowledge of the software development process and ability to communicate well with software development teams
• Strong project management skills and ability to function as project leader influencing others as well as individual contributor. Able to work well in cross-functional teams
• Extremely detail-oriented, flexible and able to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment simultaneously contributing to multiple projects each with aggressive development schedules
• Strong communication skills. Able to present concepts in a clear and convincing manner to a broad range of audiences – from executives to software developers
• Experience with many of the following tools: Omnigraffle, Visio, Illustrator, Photoshop, etc
• Implementation tools and techniques: HTML coding, basic JavaScript coding, CSS, DHTML, HTML editors, etc
• At least two references
