VFX Artist

VFX Artist is responsible for creating and implementing high-end real-time visual FX. He/she must collaborate with the VFX team and workflow engineers to generate state of the art visual FX. The VFX Artist is expected to liaison with Design and other stake-holders to ensure their VFX meet the gameplay goals. The VFX Artist will also be expected to help define the VFX pipeline, while pushing the boundaries of real-time VFX.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Translate reference and 2D concept artwork into VFX.
• Translate written and verbal direction into VFX solutions.
• Work closely with Design and Programming.
• Ensure the VFX meet necessary performance and gameplay expectations.
• Rapid prototyping of VFX utilizing varying techniques.
• Implementing high end VFX that run efficiently on target.

REQUIREMENTS:
• 2 or more years of experience in videogame production or equivalent experience.
• A degree or diploma in Art or Design from an accredited institution.
• Deep understanding of real time VFX techniques and there pro’s and con’s.
• Ability to create content pipelines with ease of content creation in mind.
• Proven ability to work in photo-real art style.
• Expert in Maya, Unreal, and Photoshop.
• Mel or Python scripting experience.
• Working knowledge of shading and lighting for VFX.
• Expertise in Houdini is a plus.
• Technically as well as artistically minded.
• Comfortably works with Design and Programming disciplines.
• Wants to push real-time VFX work to the next level. Thinks outside of the box.
