This TOP Fortune 500 Company, known for the tax & small business software and located in Mountain View, Ca, is seeking a UX/VISUAL DESIGNER to join their design team for a 3+ month contract (strong possibility to extend and/or convert to full time).

We are a central catalyst for design driven optimism, using design as our core skill set to visualize, inspire and influence future thinking at our company.

We are seeking a contract user experience/visual designer to co-design and refine a product that will help millions of paycheck to paycheck users get a better handle on tracking their income and getting their taxes done with confidence. If successful, this highly visible product experience will ship integrated into one of our platforms - and is intended to have huge impact for the 2017 Tax Season (for 2016 tax filings).

This project has been in experimentation mode for about 10 months, and is ready to go to the next level. Design and research work from the experiments phase will be provided as a foundation.
Team: 4 Developers, 1 Product Manager, 1 Design Strategist & You!

We need your UX and visual design expertise to create and revise the end-to-end user experience: information architecture, flows, wireframes, visually designed screens, and final production assets. The interactions and information architecture are all new and critical to the success of this project.

The visual language will be based on our System Design Guidelines, with a certain degree of creative license. We need your communication skills to effectively collaborate with developers both in Mountain View and in India, as well as explain your work to senior stakeholders.

You will work directly in our Mountain View / SF design studio with our Design Strategist. They will lead the story, flow, and structure of the project - and provide consistent creative feedback and review end to end through the project.

• To be a critical member of a Design Group committed to excellence, impact and fun.
• To excel in bringing clarity to ambiguity, as you develop the product along with the team.
• To go from design concepts to shippable assets using human centered design processes.
• To help with user research planning, execution, and creating simple prototypes at appropriate moments in the project lifecycle.

• A degree in Human Computer Interaction, graphic design, or a relevant field.
• 3 - 5 years’ experience delivering big, important websites or v1 products.
• Deep knowledge of design principles and methods, innovation, and ideation tools.
• Expertise with wireframing and prototyping tools.
• Expertise with visual design and using components and guidelines.
• Effective communicator, presenter and negotiator.
• Organized, self-directed, efficient and able to manage complex projects in a timely manner.
• Passion for collaboration and ability to work with multidisciplinary teams.
