User Researcher

Aquent's Fortune500 client in Boston, MA is looking for a UX Researcher for a 6-month contract (40/hrs, 5 days, onsite in Boston with travel into Woonsocket, RI HQ 30-40% of the time) with potential to extend beyond. 

Overview: 
- Design and administer usability studies on a wide range of web-based platforms and applications 
- Attend intake meetings with a variety of stakeholders and help guide discussions surrounding appropriate usability testing methods to achieve business and design goals 
- Analyze results and efficiently prepare reports detailing the outcome of usability studies 
- Present findings with actionable recommendations to business sponsors and senior management 
- Lead all phases of usability test preparation including test script development 
- Identify and implement a variety of methods for getting input and feedback from customers, including card-sorting exercises, lab usability studies, online (remote) usability studies, and others as appropriate 
- Conduct user research to determine future directions for our websites and applications, including mobile apps

Education and Experience: 
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Usability, Human Factors, HCI, Psychology or additionally relevant field, though a Master’s degree is preferred 
- 2+ years experience in UX, Usability, and/or User Research fields 
- 2+ years experience in UX research 
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly PowerPoint and Excel 
- High degree of professionalism combined with adaptability 
- Ability to swiftly revise and improvise research plans, shift priorities as the environment and deadlines dictate
- Ability to work cooperatively with a team 
- Excellent time-management skills 
- Optimistic and Proactive Individual 
- Seeking candidate with a great sense of humor and ongoing willingness to learn 

Preferred familiarity or experience with: 
- Card-sorting methods 
- In-person and remote-moderated usability studies 
- Large-scale online (un-moderated) usability studies 
- Axure and InVision
