User Experience Prototyper/Information Architect
Reports to: Sr. Manager, User Experience

The User Experience Prototyper reports directly to the User Experience Senior Manager and serves in a key utility function, partnering with User Experience Leads to create and maintain simulated working prototypes of company’s prospect, client, and associate-facing digital platforms. This individual is responsible for translating wireframes, business requirements and design directions into prototypes that can be tested with end users and presented internally. This role requires an individual with a strong user-experience mindset and the necessary technical skills to execute and perfect design ideas in working code, constantly collaborating with and taking direction from interaction designers, user experience leads and visual designers on a cooperative, agency-like team. The Prototyper brings the vision of the user experience team to life to a degree that makes it virtually indistinguishable from the real thing.

Responsibilities include:
• Collaborate with business stakeholders and business analysts in analyzing requirements and assessing scope to ensure that the vision can be developed to meet business needs.
• Develop high-level concepts for features and functionality, including new product development, value-added product modules, and self-service tools designed to meet client needs.
• Extend concepts through rapid creation of low- and high-fidelity prototypes that can be iteratively tested with users and presented to business leads.
• Partner with Technology to evolve concepts and designs into functioning proofs of concept that can be further validated and tested prior to full scale development.
• Participate in usability testing to evolve concepts and designs to meet accessibility and usability industry standards.
• This individual will be primarily responsible for assisting with making implementation decisions that impact the front-end of client facing applications and Web sites.

• Bachelor’s degree + 3+ years working on Web-based transactional products (i.e., e-commerce, banking, etc.) and large-scale consumer websites
• Demonstrated ability to create interactive prototypes that simulate functionality
• Full proficiency in JavaScript, JavaScript coding techniques, HTML, and CSS and experience with JavaScript libraries: jQuery a must, Dojo a plus
• Desire to stay on the cutting edge of technology, up-to-date with current trends in web development
• Must be extremely detail-oriented, able to implement ideas down to a specification level
• Excellent project management skills; ability to plan, manage, and execute on simultaneous projects under tight deadlines in a collaborative, agency-like environment.
• Knowledge of the financial industry a plus
• Experience working with the Agile methodology a plus
• Must have an online portfolio or samples of recent work (i.e., prototypes, coded websites)
