User Experience Designer III

We are seeking a talented, passionate User Experience Designer to guide our efforts on this system. In this position you’ll have a significant impact on our business as you take a leadership role in setting the creative direction for the growth of this new system. You will work collaboratively with web developers, domain experts, users, executives, and other designers – leading design throughout the planning and development life cycle for a multitude of unique and different interfaces.

Responsibilities include:
· Collaborating closely with the group’s leaders on content strategy and purpose.
· Create the vision for, and drive the design of, innovative solutions to a wide variety of user experience challenges including: mobile, desktop, and hardware interfaces on non-portable devices.
· Propose and drive user research activities to build a deep and rich understanding of our users.
· Use user data, analytics and business requirements to assist in developing high-level requirements and user stories .
· Provide art direction and/or define the visual language for web and software applications.
· Work strategically with executives and other senior leaders within the organization to deliver useful, usable and desirable user experiences.
· Oversee and maintain detailed user-interface specifications.
· Produce user flows, wireframes, prototypes, user interface specifications and final graphics.
· Contribute to, and curate, the group’s best practices for human-centered design and research methodologies.

Basic Qualifications:
· 6+ years of experience as a user experience designer or interaction designer.
· 3+ years of experience as a lead/senior creative contributor.
· A portfolio of work demonstrating experience creating human-centered design solutions and showing your ability to turn ideas into a strong and unique creative vision.
· Experience designing for a variety of form factors including: mobile, desktop, 10-foot user interfaces and hardware interfaces on non-portable devices.
· Fluency in best practices for web-based information architecture and design, as well as strong knowledge of usability principles and techniques.
· Visual design expertise demonstrated through mockups and style guides.
· Excellent communication, presentation, and storytelling skills.
· Experience leading projects in a collaborative multi-disciplinary team including designers, web developers, writers, program managers and software developers.
· Proven ability to work directly with developers for implementation of designs.
· Desire to work in a start-up style environment, where iteration is encouraged.
· Ability to visually communicate complex systems and processes.
· Expert skill level with standard design tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Fireworks, Omnigraffle and Dreamweaver.
· Fluent in English with a proven track record of presenting to and influencing senior management.
· Bachelor's degree in design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or related field required.
Preferred Qualifications
· Ability to rapid prototype in HTML, JavaScript, and CSS a strong plus.
· Demonstrated history of acquiring user data (e.g., conducting usability studies, user interviews, contextual inquiry) is a strong plus.
· Experience in a highly agile/scrum environment.
